This video is about an 1800HP Koenigsegg.... but as soon as the wild Zonda R appeared, I'd forgotten all about the 'segg. That Pagani is pure sex on wheels, and has the raw uncorked V12 soundtrack to match. I'm now going back to rewatch its Nürburgring lap record for like the 87th time. ...and then you completely walked right past it without even paying it a mention! Unforgivable!
In the record run, it seemed the torque converter didn't close until like 280 kph. Wild. Never actually directly getting the power down directly until then.
Yeah, even with AWD, but having a transmission that increases wheel torque at lower gears, I wonder at what speed one will be able to use the full 2,400hp in Gamera without wheel spin or traction control kicking in?
@@ryanpuryear 2300 hp. Well, Gemera will be a bit heavier. Extra seats and much bigger battery. A big difference is the AWD in various modes. The 3-cyl or V8 can send its power to all 4 wheels, and the 800 hp MGU (e-motor) can chime in as desired. If we assume (wild guess) that the front axle will on average be able to deal with 60% of the torque the rear axle can... Say the Regera would at one point be able to put down 800 hp, when the heavier Gemera at the same speed is able to put down 800+480 hp. And if the extra mass of Gemera help, a bit more still of course. Key will be traction control and the resolution of the clutches Koenigsegg seems to be relying a lot on here. The front e-motor (and or ICE) feeds torque to each front wheel by balancing clutches, as I understand. When we look at a bland gutted Tesla Plaid, still heavier than Gemera, only 1020 hp, it pulls a sub 9 second 1/4 mile. Great traction control. One motor to front differential, one motor each rear wheel, I think. Gemera ought to have wide tyres, IMO, pull even harder, especially due to being lighter Always way more power to each wheel than Plaid ever could..
@@Cloxxki So what is your guess? Given that tt AWD 1800 hp Lambo spin their wheels roll racing on a drag strip, I suspect you will not be able to use 2,300hp till over 100mph.
At launch, the engine holds the revs at 3000 rpm, before it jumps to 4500 revs as the torque converter slips and doubles the torque and power put to the wheels - this is what creates that speedboat effect. As the wheels catch up the engine slips further ahead till about 5500 rpm when the torque multiplication becomes negligible. At this point, at around 270 kmph, the lock up clutch engages, the Regera goes direct drive and from there till Vmax the revs rise linearly with speed till 8250 rpm. So from then out it sounds like a tall 6th gear supercharged by electric power. Nothing beats the Regera from 240-400 kmph. When not on full throttle, the Lockup clutch can engage from 50 kmph onwards, giving direct drive, but floor the pedal, or pull the clutch paddle, and it unlocks to give max torque and power.
@@ryanpuryear Fair guess. Koenigsegg once declared speeds from which they were full throttle on their RWD cars. It did take a while. Modified Lambos might not make the best of their original traction control. Rimac Nevara pulls nicely, but has "only" 550 hp or so per rear wheel.
Thanks Brooks. Both 'Regera' record videos (0-400-0) on Koenigsegg TH-cam channel did not mention the E85. The latest record video only addressed the surface and the new tyres. If I punch you with my left, and then with my right, did I punch you with two fists at a time?
It is the most powerful running Egg even now, despite the Jesko existing. The Gemera will soon take over the crown. But think about this. If Koenigsegg replaced the 2 wheel motors with one Dark Matter motor, and the crank motor with a Quark and the Engine with the Jesko engine, they could get 2735 HP right away.
@@srinitaaigaura Jesko will put more peak power to the rear wheels, but the Regera sure has a neat way with dealing with the start from a dig. Take a whole before you can put more than 700 hp to the rear wheels, so the ICE doesn't really need a gearbox, only a torque converter, for the specific job or rushing to 400 kph. In every day track driving, having the single and final gear to match over 400 kph and a small battery to do the toqruey stuff at speeds under 250 kph...a bit limiting perhaps. Hence Gemera (a bit to my regret) going with 9 spd over the Regera's Direct Drive plus an extra drive axle. For metrics, the 9 spd is the better way probably, even if the torque converter is so eloquent and engaging, especially when not quite engaging physically :)
@@CloxxkiDon't remember where I read it, but CvK stated that the Regera would do 0-100/0-62 in 4.5 sec on combustion engine alone (edit: changed to the correct car)
@@vfr492 If Gemera, then perhaps the 2020 version? Still odd, as the engine would need to drop the clutch in effectively 7th/8 gear, with revs only doubled throught the torque converter. And then still it's a FWD car. For the Regera, it might be correct. Nearly twice the power and RWD, similar gearing and torque converter. The production Gemera with 600 hp and 9 gears going to all wheels if desired, even with zero hybrid, should be about as good as a similar 639 hp AMG GT 4-Door Coupé: 3.2 seconds to 100kph. Gemera 3-cyl might well get better tyres and a much lower weight, so the number will be close. In EV mode, 800 hp going to all wheels (I suppose a clutch makes it bypass the ICE), we should be looking at sub 3 seconds.
@@Cloxxkisorry, I meant the regera. Off topic, the Gemera are now true 4wd, not only fwd on combustion. Maybe they needed to do that when they dropped down the v8. 1500-1600 HP on fwd only would be a sight to be seen, but an accident in the making

It's an 1100 hp ICE and a 700 hp of hybrid. If they now peak at the same time, it deserves some explaining. And it's not said that they are coinciding, just a cooler number to share. If I punch you with my left, and then with my right, did I punch you with two fists at a time?
Crazy that this isn’t the fastest Koenigsegg.
@@CloxxkiDon't remember where I read it, but CvK stated that the Regera would do 0-100/0-62 in 4.5 sec on combustion engine alone
(edit: changed to the correct car)
I'm curious what Brooks thinks of the SP3 Daytona now that he's seen it in person? Like the design?
0:13 funny, if someone who isn't aware about this car and just by watching this moment, he/she might say that this car is also jet powered! The smoke, the whistling! Amazing!!!
That's the ultimate lineup of all the supercars and megacars🤤😍🔥
Brooks, Can you organize Holy Trinity roll race with numbers or Koenigsegg drag race and roll race with numbers?😂😂😂😊😊😊😊
Regera cannot even keep up with 918 at 1/4 or 1/2 mile
P1 is already winning 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile against Regera
Chiron is so much faster
Chiron Supersport is much faster
Rimac Nevera even quicker
This is for people who can appreciate a high power off shore speed boat
Love the direct drive hydro coup
What happened with the Jesko? I've only seen it in this kind of events.
Sounds like a Swedish Volvo Tractor from the 50s LOL 😆
Hey Brooks, we spoke to you at this car. Love the content!
thank you!
1.31 megawatts!Great Scott!!! Marty, I'm sorry, but the only power source capable of generating 1.31 megawatts is a Koenigsegg Regera!
There is nothing better than seeing people beating on million dollar cars! Love it! Finally people driving them hard like they were meant to be driven instead of just looking pretty in a storage garage.
That’s a really amazing car! Thanks for sharing, the gold was beautiful
Second favourite car of all time behind the Agera R I’d love to be in the passenger seat of the Regera
The Pagani sound is my fave
If there is any car you would want to take a ride in, Its the Regera. It pulls almost as hard as a Rimac Nevara and it sounds like a power tool. Plus its the only super car which can slalom at over 200 kph! The Huayra Rs and the Lamborghini Huracans also sound epic!
Amazing line up.
1800??
Yes all power combined
E85
@@Smzxe I keep seeing 1500hp on multiple sites idk why ppl didn't show it as 1800hp

Wait until Gemera comes out. 2300+hp

Big boy car
Real Life Grand Turismo / Need For Speed video game vibe right there❤
My favorite car ever REGARA!!!!
The car they're inside in the paddock has a fixed roof but the car they take up the hill seems to be a spyder....or is the roof removable?
Roof is removable and is stowable in the front trunk.
1800? Is that verified somewhere? Adding the peak battery and peak ICE power doesn't work.
Probably on E85
On E85 the V8 produces 1500hp, so 1800hp is definitely possible
@@amarjit_singh_ Different V8 version, focused on torque at low rpm, due to only having "7th" gear and a torque converter. Anyway, that generation's "normal" V8 had 1360 hp on E85.
@@Cloxxki I am quoting from the official source
@@amarjit_singh_ Link then, please?
EDIT: he has reading comprehension issue, quotes explictly specified as "combined" powr and digs in hard on the E85 mentioned.
No motorsport show anywhere in the world can boast all these cars in one place....RULE BRITANIA!
“1.21 gigawats, great Scott” (“Doc”, back to the future 🤓👍)
What a car!! Beautiful
I haven’t looked up this information, but I wonder if Koenigsegg V8 are still derived or at least inspired from Ford V8 version? I remember they were, back in the day.
The make their own engine now
Same bore spacing and deck height. Everything else is unique
@@El_Jim Thank you for the reply. On Your 2nd paragraph, you went way too deep in assumptions. My question is, why a 5.0 liter? Was it because it was inspired by ford’s 5.0 liter engine, since the brand use to source Ford Engines. I know they completely made there own version. Would like to know the engineering behind it. Just interested to know. I’m not downgrading the brand image whatsoever. Just curious to know…
I will now use my $1000.00 pocket computer and find out if available.
@@StevenSVT the jesko is close to 5.1L
They started making their own engines after the 2011
You are tired there, what a piece of art this car is, nice
Wow Brooks this had to be an E Ticket experience !!!
At 7:23 black/green car. What is it? Man it breaks loose right there so easily and controlled. It’s hard to even hear the engine strain just suddenly the car is drifting and tires start to vaporize. 💪🏻👊🏻
It’s a Rimac Nevera an electric hypercar
Rimac Nevera. 1900 hp electric car
About 1,474 hp when not running E85.
And about 1,756 hp when running E85
The only part that pleases my eye is the azs end!
1100 on pump fuel, 1500 on E85
Remember 1800 is the combined hp, e motors and engine have different power curves so it never reaches 1800
@@W1nkey_ read again 1.11 megawatts 1500 HP 91 octane
1800 HP E85
Even if it made 1564 HP on 95 octane with the 15% drivetrain loss
on Dyno it put down 1600+ HP
That dyno simulates real world conditions
If they tested Regera on E85 and normal roller dyno
It will definitely put down 1800 HP easily

This is Agera RS top speed driver and koenigsegg test driver Nikalas Lilja he said Regera has 1800 HP 1.31 Megawatts
Why will he lie about power of Regera?
You literal delusional guy
Still Regera made 1564 HP it's more than 1500 hp
They didn't mention the Fuel
It was basically 98 octane
Still not confirmed
Regera definitely has over 1800 HP
Good wood is a great place to bring a egg cause u never have to actually keep ur foot down and stay on it. It be nice if they ever actually put one of these thru a proper test.
I bet many countries have smaller defense budgets than the value of that parking field we saw at the end of the video 😂

Just like a fast Prius CV-TRIX whine
Awesome video, Brooks. I love what Christian is doing with the company. Very unique tech. Way More exciting than the Nevera. And way better looking to.

Königsegg should make a car called Berserk.
a crazy car that is hard to make people understand how fast it is on video

I’m curious why Christian didn’t put the two motors up front? I’m sure he has legit reasons but man awd would have been cool.
7:19 GTA so realistic
If I ever hit the lotto I'm definitely getting one of these or the jescko without the wing
A $35K MMR 5.0 makes the same kind of power...
Precisely. The world record standing mile is an oem block and heads 5.4L that destroys ALL of these "hypercars" .

I think an all 24k gold leaf exterior on a car would be absolutely amazing, if it comes out as good as koenigsegg does it
The regera doesn't have 1800hp 🤯 it has 1500hp
The newest regera has the updated battery and the 800 hp dark matter motor from the gemera so it now has 1800 hp
@justsomerandomcarguy2205 Christian has said combined it makes around 1797 hp but the power curve combined means it has 1500hp total horsepower there isn't a new regera and the dark matter motor is for the Gemera not regera
It’s not the performance car from koenigsegg, it’s a comfy gt. Enough said. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, mclaren, and Paganini get it together. They’re embarrassing you
