@@EmpressSectonia he didn’t get to be around him because morgott was born with the omen curse(the horns) him and his twin brother mohg were going to be sent to subterranean shunning grounds but he changed his named to margit(marika did not love them the only child with godfrey that she loved was godwyn her favorite child) and he actually died you see this in the opening cutscene which is why you fight his spirit before you fight morgott the second time he’s actually resurrecting when you fight him here

The reveal about Godfrey's true identity makes so many things click about Nepheli Loux. Like why she's considered a worthy heir for Stormveil. And why Gideon would be interested in adopting her. In fact, with her questline she talks about how the albinauric village massacre reminds her of what happened to her own tribe before she was adopted by Gideon. So it is totally plausible that it was Gideon himself that ordered the massacre of her people just so he could swoop in and "rescue" her to manufacture loyalty towards him. Which totally fits with the whole Game of Thrones type schemer archetype that Gideon represents
Also fits with the allusions to Odin... One of Odin's names was "Ofnir" (meaning "inciter"); Odin was known to do almost anything so that he could become practically All-Knowing (for the sake of averting Ragnarok); he was the ruler of Valhalla, the Hall of the Fallen, much like how Gideon rules over the Roundtable Hold, where Tarnished, the dead who yet live, gather; and most relevant to Nepheli: it was said that one of the worst things that could happen to a person in life was to become Odin's chosen warrior since it meant that your life would be short and tragic so that Odin could recruit you once you reached Valhalla... and once Nepheli becomes a burden, and we take down Ensha, he instead ropes _us_ into his services...
The best part is, someone spawned him to fight against other bosses in a video, and he can take down basically everyone except for Maliketh, and even that fight is pretty close. My favorite part was him slamming Gideon into the ground and Gideon going "my bones..."

FINALLY! I can’t tell you how happy I am to hear someone else acknowledge Hoarah Loux’s big reveal like this. Throughout my entire 130 hour playthrough, I always got hyped meeting the tarnished in the intro, but I was getting worried I may have missed something since I never met the Chieftan of the Badlands. Then, of course, FromSoft blindsided me with THIS reveal and I lost my shit-both from the lore snapping together in my mind and the terror I almost immediately felt facing this bloodthirsty, legendary warrior’s BARE FISTS! Needless to say, I died to a grab, and further lost my shit when I saw him tear my pc’s ribcage open bearhanded!

The chest armor represent his title as elden lord and the lion his barbarian nature, the duality of his nature weighing him down and Clawing away at who he became! For the barbarian archtype scars are pride so him wearing was armor is agains his way of life.

Godrick is only a distance relatives of the Marika x Godfrey tree line, it's quite possible that he might only carry Godfrey's blood and not Marika, since it seems like you automatically earn certain status if your ancestors ascended to lord status or godhood.
I love how the first major boss that talks to us in the game calls us “Foul tarnished” and this guy calls us “Tarnished warrior”.
