Escape is still just as good as the rest of Ride the lighting . I can think of a few songs I don't like from Metallica and this is definitely not even close to the list . For being a song they didn't want to play live or even write, it was fantastic. But really what song by MetallicA isn't fantastic. I feel like I grew up with these guys. Brother's from another mother. Thank you for sharing this and thank you MetallicA member's. Love you all.
They rushed writing it last second during ride the lightning and i think having to write something so fast especially when you finally think you're done making the entire album has to suck
I remember when this came out I thought that the verses sounded like Metallica but the chorus reminded me of something that could be on Diary of a Madman from Ozzy. Still good company to be in for sure and ironic they opened up for him shortly thereafter.
Honestly I had never associated this chorus to the vibe we find in Diary... I will listen to "Diary of..." again after years without listening to it so as to try to find what you found.
@@AFx3144 I'm pretty sure the chorus of You can't kill rock and roll is what made me think the Escape chorus could've been in an Ozzy song. But that was my 15 year old self so who knows where the hell I came up with that ....
The studio made them write one more song for the album Ride the Lightning. They didn’t know any this and had to write it quickly in the studio. That’s why he hates it.
