Anita Anand's biography of this hardly known and yet v significant figure, 'Sophia Princess, Suffragette, Revolutionary' is published by Bloomsbury in hardback edition. I don't know if there's a paperback, but I most certainly DO know that, if you have any intention of helping to restore the greatness of Britain, for the RIGHT reasons this time (and there's a damned sight more to it than A. I, whatever Lords Blair and Hague say), then, I say, you should rush out STRAIGHT AWAY and get your copy of this fascinating tome, which is eminently readable, beautifully written &c, I mean COME ON! Anyone who writes the words "unnecessary excitement" in a description of the Victorian attitude to women's bicycle riding gets MY vote. I note from the comments that someone wants to know what this is doing on 'English Heritage'.. I think the question really is it's own answer.. Surely you KNOW what this is doing there? Forward together, Babies. 🌟👍
Hi there. The London Blue Plaques Scheme commemorates people from the past who lived and worked in London. Sophia Duleep Singh lived in Hampton Court and was an active member of the Women's Social and Political Union which was instrumental in the campaign for women's suffrage in Britain. It’s about a suffragette, who lived in Hampton Court and campaigned outside Parliament, whose family’s diamond is currently part of the Crown Jewels. Where else would it be?
I’m so happy that this story is being shared.
Thanks for meaningful and valuable video as always ❤❤❤
Excellent! Thank you for the content. Great speaker and I will be doing some research.

This was so interesting. Now I'm going to have to find out more about this woman's life.
She is beautiful.
Why is this on this channel? This isn't English heritage...
