totally agree man, it's really easy - especially with the boredom of huge pro playing and daily practice - to fall in bad habits. Like, as you say, thinking to this in form of scales and arpeggios. Sometimes it's important to stop for a moment and think out of the box. Melody, is the most important thing! Peace!

Michele Azzu couldn't agree more man! Problem I feel is music education doesn't stress on music but everything else! Lol. Thanks for checking this out. Peace ✌🏽

Anthony...I'm a fan of you and thank you for all of these videos. Today I am using the book of
    D. Agostini.....Solfege Rythmique. I put scales and arrps into the patterns in this book . Everyday a new page. You won't believe the melodies. Like when I'm using 3rds of the scales......check it out if you can find it....your student ron castro

Anthony, what is your set up ? I see you play a Squire bass (doubt it's an 'Affinity' model, made from Agathis), so what's the model and what amplification do you use. You have a very tight, defined sound and I realise a lot of that is playing technique. Just thought it would be interesting to know, how you achieve your sound ?

great talk anthony, inspiring ! definitely going to be an active listener to some more music, I really think that listening to one album that you listen everyday, for a week can get you far.
