    Thank you vary, very much for this. You have achieved what many strive to do but just cannot get it right. Out of all the channels on youtube, your lessons are ALWAYS spot on and accurate. Not to mention your wonderful teaching and playing ability. Always a nice.

    I swear you have to be the best guitar player I've ever seen. I live on your TH-cam page. I Know modesty will not allow you to agree but all your guitar playing is so meticulous. You must be somewhat of a perfectionist. How long have you been playing to be that awesome ? I dream of being able to do what you do one day. I've only been playing for a year and a half. I get SO frustrated when I can't get it all down when playing my guitar. I'm a TH-cam guitar student. I just wanted to compliment you on your guitar talent. May God bless you 🙏 and your family.

    Back in the day using a cheap record player, no internet or tabs it was very tedious to get parts. Usually when someone came up with a usable part like the sus chord, everyone you knew played it that way. Being the only guitarist in a band meant playing a little of each part and mashing them together. This was fun to finally hear all the parts played out. Thanks.

  • @hepgeoff
    @hepgeoff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great lesson! You're only one on TH-cam who has the chords correct. Thanks!

    You know, when this music was coming out, nobody knew who was playing what.
    From the album covers, I thought the black dude was doing the vocals because..duh.
    Tom Johnson was..and is a musical genius.
    By the time he disappeared from the band, I figured that much out at least.
    The way rock bands rolled in those days...I thought he was probably not long for this world.
    As Rick said: Heroin is a hell of a drug.
    Seeing him live on, come back and play on is just a joy.

    A lot more sophisticated writing than it sounds......but then again......probably the reason it works and became a big hit. I gave up on learning guitar months ago, but I still really enjoy the knowledge you impart in your vids. A bit of music theory, a bit of history and trivia but with an honest level of enthusiasm that makes it fun rather than pedantic. Thanks!!

    Nice! That last part i have been covering on keys for many years live while our "real" guitarist does the main part. Makes for a nice counterpoint. This is really helpful as I'm trying to do this tune on guitar instead.

    Tom Johnston is a master at this kinda stuff. Barring and hamering. He does it on listen to the music too. Almost same chords shape but then on 9th fret. That's the Johnston shuffle.

    Excellent! I cannot tell you how many times guitar players have argued with me about that Eb transition. I think I have run into only 1 or 2 players that did it right. And of course, since I play keyboards, they don't think I know. Most are so wrapped up in their sound they don't notice I am playing a 12 string patch doing 3rd guitar part.

    For the acoustic parts, if you tune the A down to G, you can play it as recorded - With the G bass running through, that's based on the ISO tracks available, it may be tuned to open G as well, great job on this though!
