I recollect I was playing Jazz at the Train Station in San Juan Capistrano a few years ago, this Young Multi Rythemist sat in until his Train left (Hard to forget a Guy Looks like That!) and WE FED OFF EACHOTHER'S ENERGIES until my MUSIC became a SECOND KUNDALINI EXPERIANCE! WOW. I was never the same! Of Course I am Never The Same as I was Yesterday, over 64 years!
Start with a flat sheet/board of good tonewood & add eight Steel Thimbles to your fingertips. Affix whatever resonant washboard you can find, a couple of cymbalettes, a cake pan, a dried & hollowed gourd and Thousands of hours of practice - practice - practice. You will also need a good measure of natural talent ! Carnegie Hall is waiting for you, so start now.
Not sure what the percussion instrument is but it's got New Orleans all over it. Something that creative and unique sounding most likely came from the Crescent City. Nother thing that gave it away; belt loops on it. You know what that means. You can strap that thing on; play it, march, dance, grab a bite to eat. Come on now.
No, guitarist is not Django. And it's not Keith Richards or Louis Armstrong, either. And clarinet is neither Ken Peplowski nor Sabine Meyer. Guitar is Dorado Schmitt, clarinet Dan Levinson, piano is not Art Tatum - as some of you expected - but Peter Beets.
He is good - but these guys actually had Ken Peplowski on another clip - he has to be the World's Best. Check out the Django New York City Festival clip also posted by Jan on TH-cam. you will enjoy these guys again.
This has to be pre-1953, when Django died, so I am astonished there is a guy in dreadlocks playing percussion. I never saw anyone in dreadlocks as a kid, and this guy looks white, too!
+Cliff Marvin Sure. But the main thing is that this video is from 2004, it's written in the video. 1930's footages are in black & white, man ! This man is not Django, but Dorado Schmitt. xD
@JHBackingTracks just FYI u're not any better than those you say who thinks that this is the worst music ever by trash talking dance and techno music, but it is music just as much as this is. And therefore theres a reason for having different genres... hope you realize that, and btw i love this + i make dubstep and such so people can have a wide music taste..
@NE146D9R soo you don't think that house and other club music is "real" music? And i don't think anyone would play and make music if they didn't think it was fun :)
@TripleAxelF Exactly! :-) It actually kills me, when you find people that ACTUALLY think this is the worst sort of music ever, and that the best type is some techno dance rubbish, that manages to sneak its way into the category of 'music'
Lord may the guys that keep this kind of music going never die. Amen.
Amen ve amen ❤
When artistry and fun goes hand in hand, music can't get better than this. Thank you for posting.
This is beyond amazing!
Dorado Schmidt..so great..
and how he just is into David Langlois....great great great...
David Langlois is the percussionist.

Nobody is trying to trick you, it is just the name of the festival tribute on his name.
dummy
Marvellous. They should work together with the clarinet-genious Martin Schmidt-Hahn. His clarinet-sound would fit in the band

That's my kind of "Heavy Metal"!

@dirtbike5100 70% of it you'll find in the kitchen, 20% in the basement and the missing 10% are random things you find on the street.
I don't know what it is, but the finger tapping instrument is pretty groovy. Anybody know where I can get one of those things?
0:56 that sound

Du bonheur !:
Benny Goodman on clarinet :)

+Beth Bartlett Correction -
Django Reinhardt - New York City Festival - Dark Eyes -
correct title.
Old wash board...Fondu pot, Block of wood that is hollowed out and a round cake pan from what I can see...Anything can be musical.
Can anyone tell me who the guy with the finger tapping is?He is amazing man..this is true music!
Unbelievable
Why does this have so few views??
Some far out jazz
This is beautiful! Has there been a record released for this?
Bliss
What is the name of the drummer, percussionist, please, would like to find other video on you tube.
+Anna Rutagengwaova David Langlois

+Cliff Marvin are you stupid ?
joetheouf I was just ignorant...I see that rastafarianism has been around since 1930
+Cliff Marvin Sure. But the main thing is that this video is from 2004, it's written in the video. 1930's footages are in black & white, man ! This man is not Django, but Dorado Schmitt. xD
Thanks for clarifying. I knew it had to be a more recent video, but Mr. Schmitt looks remarkably like Mr. Reinhardt.
I was confused
Dorado :-)
Does anybody knows what group is it?
DJANGO REINHARDT ON GUITAR .

He's a pots and pan player.

in the description they call it the washboard... just so you know.
Who is playing the acoustic guitar? He looks enough like Reinhardt that I got totally flummoxed,, as Reinhardt died in 1953.
Dorado Schmitt
Clickbait
But he has all his fingers.
Fak.... Amazing
@NE146D9R soo you don't think that house and other club music is "real" music? And i don't think anyone would play and make music if they didn't think it was fun :)
Didn't he die in 1953?
This is from the Django-Reinhard-Festival, named after Django Reinhardt, who died in 1953. The guitarist is Dorado Schmitt, a french gypsy.
and then there was guitar
chi sono i musicisti??aiutatemi
@TripleAxelF Exactly! :-) It actually kills me, when you find people that ACTUALLY think this is the worst sort of music ever, and that the best type is some techno dance rubbish, that manages to sneak its way into the category of 'music'
