Welcome back to Garden Ninja and today I'm going to be showing you an outdoor hyper contemporary living area I've been designing so I'll just show you the beforehand and you see that it's literally just blank slates of green grass and then what it is going to look like shown here the perspective drawings and my own designs and then if you follow me around
this corner and even though my squeaky shoes you'll now see what's happened today Gareth and his team started to excavate the areas.
So the stone that I'm going to be using in the contemporary outdoor
living space is this beautiful grey granite and I'm having a bit of a love affair with granite it's my stone of choice at the moment because it's super hard wearing really brutal and you can get a really nice clean edge so I opted for granite it's gonna be really bold and hopefully the planting will soften it and it's just gonna look like a really incredible space.
So were about half way through now on the contemporary garden the pavers have been going I've chosen these rectangular pavers that are very thin and they are being laid length ways towards the raised bed the reason why I've done this is to elongate the garden so it will pull your eye through the garden towards the raised bed which is the finish laying these pavers and then move on to the raised bed that's gonna be clad in the same granite pavers and that's gonna be a real skill which is where I've got Gareth to do it is it's certainly not a job that I would want to take on personally but once that's been clad it will again give the illusion that the raised bed has literally been pulled up out of this patio and it will give consistency.
So the pleached trees are in I've cultivated the entire bed it was no mean feat. It took me an entire day to work to the soil and give it a really good top dressing a really high quality compost and now time for the exciting part I'm gonna start planting this bed up and your family get to see the final finished product of this the hyper contemporary outdoor living space.
So I've laid all the plants out made a few tweaks and now I'm happy with the arrangement it's time to get them in! So I complimented the big raised bed with a big l-shaped seating area what people can sit, eat food from the barbecue or have drinks in the evening also use these Rosemary standards to give a real sensory element to the garden because when you brush past the me touch those you can smell my Rosemary and theyre great it exposed hot positions so marry them off with a contrasting part and I like both gravel which really sets it apart we've got the hot tub that's been fitted into that corner nicely which sits in proportion scale to the raised bed and then the range back so it all fits together Big L shapes lots of colour and scents!
So the plants are now all in along with the peach trees and they've all been watering and the hyper contemporary outdoor living area is now complete. So we've got somewhere that's packed full of plants of colour, places to sit we have the BBQ area the good old hot tub and we've got lighting so that the night this entire area changes for a different
    atmosphere altogether.
