I’m taking my teas in a few hours and math is one of my weak spots. I’ve always been doubtful of myself and I’ve been doubted that I’d be capable to pass ever since I failed the first time but I feel that I will do well with your videos! I pray I pass this test for ASN program😊
Girl you done taught me something @10:53 in school I was taught multiplication comes before decision. We use “please excuse my dear aunt sally” I never knew it was based off which ever was on the left side. School had me thinking M came first regardless rather it was on the left or right lol
I'm glad my video was able to teach you something new. It's funny how we can sometimes be taught something one way and then later find out there's a different way of doing it. But hey, learning is all about growth and expanding our knowledge, right? LOL Best of luck to you on your TEAS exam!
Thank you so much for the videos, Nurse Cheung! I have my TEAS next month, and I've been studying and relying on your videos. It has been helping A LOT!!

Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to produce these amazing videos for us aspiring healthcare workers. I do want to note that at 39:40, your proportion example of 12 dogs per 25 cats in a shelter does not match the problem and solution you propose when asking the total number of dogs in a shelter with 100 total animals because one would first have to convert the first proportion into 12 dogs per 37 total animals to create a cross multiply with xdogs per 100 total animals. Aside from this, thank you again for your commitment to future healthcare professionals!
Thank you for your kind words and for bringing that to my attention. I appreciate your feedback and attention to detail. You're absolutely right about the mismatch in the proportion example I provided. I apologize for any confusion it may have caused. I apologize for the oversight in explaining the problem and solution correctly. It's important to ensure the proportions align with the correct units and quantities. Your feedback helps me improve the accuracy and clarity of my content, and I truly appreciate it.
I take my teas for the 1st time on the 19th! I have been watching your videos the last couple of days and they have been so helpful. Math is not my favorite so I plan on reviewing math today.
That's great to hear you've been finding the videos helpful as you gear up for your TEAS on the 19th! As your test day approaches, try to balance your study sessions with some relaxation time too, so you go into the test feeling prepared but not overwhelmed. I'm taking my Teas exam in less than 2 weeks and I'm trying to watch all your videos. I hope I pass on my first try, I've been putting this off for few semester now. I'm kind of nervous, any suggestions or study tips?
If you've been out of school for a while, taking a practice test first might be beneficial to gauge your current understanding and identify the areas that require more focus. Allocate your study time prioritizing the sections where you need the most improvement. Consider using comprehensive study resources like the Nurse Cheung Complete Study Guide, which offers a detailed outline of key topics and includes practice questions. Educational videos can also be particularly useful, especially for challenging topics, as they help refresh your knowledge in an engaging way. Keep your study sessions concise and targeted-aim for 1-2 hours at a time to prevent burnout. It’s natural to feel nervous, but with consistent, focused study, you can significantly enhance your chances. Stay persistent, and best of luck!
I am so pleased to hear my video has been helpful in your studies COCO RACHELLE 😊💜 I can imagine how overwhelming the book has become since most of it is filled with fluff and things you don't necessarily need to know. I wish you the best of luck on your exam 😊
This has been the most easily explained and helpful video being that I have been using man study guides and none of them helped as much as these videos thank you!!

You've got this, and I'm sure the hard work you're putting in now will pay off. Good luck on your TEAS exam! 🌟📚💪 Take a deep breath, believe in yourself, and give it your best shot. You can do it! 🍀🕒📝
@@NurseCheung I didn’t score as well as I should on my first teas. I was low on science, math and reading. I love watching your videos and I’ll keep watching more to review before I take it in another month. It definitely was in expecting with the questions but I think I just need to review some more. Thank you! Do you have any advice for me though? Anything that may help to do better for next time?
The square root of 16 is a rational number because it is a perfect square of 4, right? Other than that, thank you Nurse Cheung! Your format has been incredibly helpful. Before finding your videos, learning all of the possible subjects for the TEAS seemed an insurmountable task. Thank you for taking the anxiety out of studying 🙂
Thank you for the feedback Megan L 😊💜 I appreciate you and your kind feedback regarding my videos 😊 I am glad I could lessen your anxiety from studying for the exam.

Huge congratulations on passing your test, especially with such a tight study timeline! It's impressive that you managed to pull it off with just two days of prep. 🌟 It's a smart move to plan for a retake to aim for an even higher score, considering the competitiveness of the program. Remember to give yourself a bit more time to dive into the areas you want to strengthen. Keep up the amazing work, and good luck with your next attempt! I only have 5 days to prepare for this test it’s not fair I feel as if I’m not going to pass to get in I’m using all your material hoping for a miracle 😂😂😂
Five days is definitely a tight timeframe, but it's great to see you're approaching it with a sense of humor and determination! While it's a challenge, focusing on the most critical content areas and efficiently using your study time can still make a significant difference. Prioritize the subjects you feel weakest in and review key concepts and practice problems in those areas. Use the material that you find most helpful-whether it's summaries, practice questions, or video explanations-to maximize your understanding in a short period. Stay positive, take breaks to keep your mind fresh, and get plenty of rest before the test day. You're doing everything you can, and that's all you can ask of yourself. Good luck-I'm rooting for you to pull off that miracle! 😄🍀
I have an abundance of resources at your disposal. Starting with videos that break down each section of the TEAS and then progressing to question review videos is an excellent strategy for comprehensive preparation. Focus on understanding the content and structure of the exam first; you'll build a solid foundation to tackle the practice questions effectively.
Hello I love your channel thank you for providing the information that we need to study for the teas. I take my test next week 8/29 and I’m highly nervous ! I’m really scared for the word problems I struggle a lot with word problems when comes to math. When comes to the equations problems I just study over it until I understand what formula I need to use but when it’s word problems I’ve been practicing over and over again but always gets overwhelming for me and I get lost on what to do. Do you have any tips to help with math word problems cause I know majority of the math portion is word problems.
Hi there! I understand that math word problems can be challenging, but with some focused practice and strategies, you can definitely improve your skills. Here are some tips to help you tackle math word problems on the TEAS: Read Carefully: Take your time to read the problem slowly and carefully. Make sure you understand what is being asked before you proceed. Identify Key Information: Highlight or underline important information in the problem, such as numbers, units, and key phrases. This will help you focus on what's relevant. Translate to Math: Break down the problem and identify what mathematical operation or formula is needed to solve it. Write down any equations or formulas that come to mind based on the information given. Create a Plan: Before diving into calculations, come up with a plan for solving the problem. Decide on the steps you need to take and the order in which you'll perform calculations. Use Diagrams or Tables: If applicable, draw diagrams or create tables to visualize the problem. This can make it easier to understand and solve complex scenarios. Check Units: Make sure the units are consistent throughout the problem. If necessary, convert units to the same system before performing calculations. Solve Step by Step: Take it one step at a time. Solve the problem step by step, showing all your work and calculations neatly. Review Your Answer: After solving the problem, reread the question to ensure you've answered what was asked. Double-check your calculations for accuracy. Practice, Practice, Practice: The more you practice math word problems, the more comfortable you'll become. Work through a variety of problems to build your confidence. Stay Calm: Remember, it's okay to take your time and work through problems methodically. Don't let anxiety rush you; staying calm will help you think clearly. Lastly, keep watching videos and practicing problems related to math word problems. You're not alone in finding these challenging, and with dedicated practice, you can improve your skills. Best of luck on your TEAS exam today! You've got this! 🌟
Do these cover everything that we can expect to see on Teas 7? I am getting ready to take my exam in two days, but I accidentally messed up and bought the 6 study guide. Am going to be okay? ❤
It's great to hear you're gearing up for your TEAS 7 exam! My videos cover everything in the outline for the TEAS 7 exam. While there are some differences between TEAS 6 and TEAS 7, a lot of the fundamental content remains the same. The TEAS 6 study guide should still provide you with a solid foundation, especially in core areas like basic math skills, reading comprehension, and basic science principles. However, TEAS 7 has some updated content and question formats, so it might be a good idea to quickly review those changes. But don't worry too much - the fact that you're actively preparing and studying is already a big step in the right direction. Just focus on the material you have and do your best. Good luck on your exam, and keep believing in yourself! ❤️📚🍀👍
@@NurseCheung I took my TEAS today and got an 83, first attempt! Finished out with a 4.0 in my prerequisites and overall, plus bonus points for taking an optional medical terminology class and for my military service. I hope I get in!!!
Hi! You won't be allowed to bring your own calculator. Instead, a basic four-function calculator will be provided on the computer screen for you to use during the entire math portion of the test if you're taking the computer-based version. For paper-pencil versions, testing sites will typically provide a physical calculator. Best of luck with your TEAS preparation and exam! 📚✨ Remember to practice both with and without a calculator to be fully prepared! 🌟🍀💪
Hi Nurse Cheung, can you please explain how they got $80 for the word problem in 32:33? Is it because they did 100x.2=20 then 100-20? & How is 80% a decrease from 20%?
Certainly! Here's a detailed rationale for the problem: Original Problem: If a store is offering a 20% discount on an item that originally costs $100, what is the new price? Rationale: Find the discount amount: To find the amount of the discount, we multiply the original price by the discount rate. Discount Amount = Original Price × Discount Rate Discount Amount=$100 × 20% Discount Amount=$100 × 0.20 Discount Amount= $20 This means that there's a discount of $20 off the original price. Calculate the new price after the discount: To get the new price, we subtract the discount amount from the original price. New Price = Original Price − Discount Amount New Price = $100 − $20 New Price = $80 Alternatively, we can think of this in terms of percentages. If there's a 20% discount, then the customer is paying 100% - 20% = 80% of the original price. New Price= Original Price × 80% New Price = $100 × 0.80 New Price = $80 In either case, the new price of the item after the 20% discount is applied is $80.
When dividing or multiplying an inequality by a negative number, you must reverse the inequality sign. For example, if you divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, like -2, you'll flip the inequality sign. Remember, this rule applies only when dealing with inequalities and dividing or multiplying by negative numbers. It doesn't apply to addition or subtraction operations. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask! Keep up the great work in your studies! 👍😊
HI I am bit confuse on the proportions questions. When we solve for x or y, it ends up making the other side same number. Ex: x+2>12 , so after solving we get x>10. if we plug in the 10 for x on the original proportion, the both sides becomes same. 12>12. so shouldn't we change the proportion to =?
Hey there! I understand where the confusion is coming from, but let's clarify how inequalities work, especially when solving for variables like x or y. In your example, you have x+2>12. When you solve this inequality by subtracting 2 from both sides, you correctly get x>10. This means that any value of x greater than 10 will satisfy the original inequality. If you plug x=10 into the original inequality to check, you get 10+2>12, which simplifies to 12>12. However, this doesn't hold true because 12 is not greater than 12. This is consistent with the solution x>10, as x=10 doesn't satisfy the inequality; only numbers greater than 10 do. So, in this case, you wouldn't change the inequality to an equal sign because the solution doesn't include x=10; it includes numbers greater than 10. The original inequality x+2>12 correctly expresses that the left side (x + 2) needs to be more than 12, and plugging x=10 doesn't meet that condition. Therefore, x>10 is the correct solution, and there's no need to change the inequality to an equal sign. I hope this clears up the confusion! Inequalities can be a bit tricky at first, but with practice, they'll start making more sense. Keep up the great work! 🌟📚
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate your support and feedback. I'm glad to hear that you find my content helpful. It's my goal to provide valuable information and guidance to students preparing for the ATI TEAS. If you have any specific topics or questions you'd like me to cover, feel free to let me know. Keep up the great work in your TEAS preparation, and I wish you the best of luck on your exam! 😊👍
Okay so when you did the converting decimals to fraction part how did you automatically come up with “25” to simplify that? I dont get how to just randomly pick a number that will work for both i think im confused on this aspect every single time i have to simplify something.
It sounds like you're asking about simplifying a fraction that was originally converted from a decimal. When simplifying fractions, the goal is to find a number (the greatest common divisor) that divides evenly into both the numerator and the denominator of the fraction, reducing it to its simplest form. For example, if you converted a decimal to a fraction and ended up with something like 50/100, you'd want to simplify this fraction. In this case, both 50 and 100 can be divided by 50, making it the greatest common divisor for these numbers. When you divide both the numerator and the denominator by 50, you get 1/2. The "randomly picking a number" part isn't so random after all; it involves looking for the largest number that fits into both the numerator and the denominator without leaving a remainder. Sometimes, you might have to simplify in steps, like the example above, especially if it's not immediately obvious what the greatest common divisor is. A good strategy is to start with the obvious common divisors (like 2, 3, 5, 10) and work your way up until you can't simplify the fraction any further. With practice, this process will become more intuitive, and you'll get quicker at spotting which numbers to use for simplifying. Don't worry if it feels a bit tricky right now; simplifying fractions is a skill that improves with practice. Keep working at it, and you'll find it gets easier over time! 🌟📚🔢
Based on the feedback I have received from several test takers, formulas that are necessary for solving problems are typically provided on the ATI TEAS test. It's important to familiarize yourself with these formulas and understand how to apply them during the exam. Make sure to review and practice using the formulas beforehand to ensure you're prepared. Good luck with your TEAS test!
Great question! When dealing with fractions on the TEAS exam, it's important to follow the specific instructions given in each question. In some cases, you may be required to leave the fraction as is, while in other cases you may need to simplify it. Pay close attention to the wording of the question and any given instructions to determine whether simplification is necessary. If no specific instructions are provided, it's always a good idea to simplify the fraction to its simplest form, if possible. This can help make calculations and comparisons easier. Keep practicing and pay attention to the specific requirements of each question. Good luck with your TEAS preparation!
I understand your frustration with the ads. While creators on TH-cam can choose if they want ads on their videos and the types of ads that can appear, TH-cam's algorithm largely determines the placement and frequency of ads in videos. I purchased TH-cam Premium, which offers an ad-free experience. That may be helpful.
@@NurseCheung in the video you'll be like the answer is twel- "YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES MAY BE ENTITLED TO COMPENSATION" 😂. Like no processing time and it erases everything you just said from our brains. I understand the ads overall and i hope they're still paying you extra for the ones we can't skip. I'm way to casual to buy premium plus this is the only videos of yours when i was like wtf😂 but to people who haven't taken their teas yet. NOW IS THE TIME TO USE YOUR TRIAL
Great question, Paul Hoang 😊💜 Unfortunately, you will not have the ability to choose which section you want to start with. The exam will be administered in the Reading, Math, Science, English, and Language usage order. That would be helpful, though, for those who tend to struggle in certain areas.
Great question! If you have an even number of values in a set, finding the median involves taking the average of the middle two values. For example, if you have the set of numbers {2, 4, 6, 8}, the median would be (4 + 6) / 2 = 5. Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns. Best of luck to you in your TEAS exam preparation!
Great question Aeriol Geddis 😊💜 You will flip the inequality sign in two situations: (1) multiplication and division by negative numbers and with Absolute Value problems. I hope that helps clarify your question.
In the ATI TEAS math section, there are indeed two categories: "Number and Algebra" and "Measurement and Data." Each category consists of a fixed number of questions." However, it's important to note that the exact number of questions may vary slightly in different versions of the exam. It's advisable to thoroughly prepare for both categories to perform well in the math section. Good luck with your TEAS exam!
Absolutely, I hear you! Facing the TEAS, especially the math part, can feel daunting, but you've already shown such courage by stepping up to this challenge. Everyone has their own areas where they feel less confident, and it's completely normal. You're taking on something big, and that in itself is a huge accomplishment.
Thanks, thought I was going crazy there. 😅

How many ATI Teas videos do you have. I want to make sure im not missing any videos

Here are some tips to help you tackle math word problems on the TEAS:
Read Carefully: Take your time to read the problem slowly and carefully.

You are amazing
Do you know if there is calculator allowed on ALL math problems?
Certainly! Here's a detailed rationale for the problem:
Original Problem:
If a store is offering a 20% discount on an item that originally costs $100, what is the new price?
Rationale:
Find the discount amount:
To find the amount of the discount, we multiply the original price by the discount rate.
Discount Amount = Original Price × Discount Rate
Discount Amount=$100 × 20%
Discount Amount=$100 × 0.20
Discount Amount= $20
This means that there's a discount of $20 off the original price.
Calculate the new price after the discount:
To get the new price, we subtract the discount amount from the original price.
New Price = Original Price − Discount Amount
New Price = $100 − $20
New Price = $80
Alternatively, we can think of this in terms of percentages. If there's a 20% discount, then the customer is paying 100% - 20% = 80% of the original price.
New Price= Original Price × 80%
New Price = $100 × 0.80
New Price = $80
In either case, the new price of the item after the 20% discount is applied is $80.
THANK YOUUU SOOO MUCH@@NurseCheung
So on 49:33 you said we divided/multiplied it by negative number - which means we have to invert the sign when is negative?
When dividing or multiplying an inequality by a negative number, you must reverse the inequality sign. For example, if you divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, like -2, you'll flip the inequality sign.
Remember, this rule applies only when dealing with inequalities and dividing or multiplying by negative numbers. It doesn't apply to addition or subtraction operations. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask! Keep up the great work in your studies! 👍😊
@@NurseCheung Thank you so much Nurse Cheung!! 😄😄😄
HI
I am bit confuse on the proportions questions.
@nurse cheung i am having trouble how did you get 25 ?
Hi Patrice. Can you tell which question and where you need help answering?
Your very good!
Thank you
You're welcome
Do you have practice test only?
Hi Bella. I do not currently have only a practice test available but I am looking to incorporate this in the near future. Thank you for the feedback.
Do we get formulas for the test??
Based on the feedback I have received from several test takers, formulas that are necessary for solving problems are typically provided on the ATI TEAS test. It's important to familiarize yourself with these formulas and understand how to apply them during the exam. Make sure to review and practice using the formulas beforehand to ensure you're prepared. Good luck with your TEAS test!
very helpful
Thank you Matrice Malveaux 😊💜
Thank you for posting 9/21/24
Best video 💪
😊 Thank you for your support nap nemeanix
Ok so on the example 584/1000 do we leave as that or simplify?
Great question! When dealing with fractions on the TEAS exam, it's important to follow the specific instructions given in each question. In some cases, you may be required to leave the fraction as is, while in other cases you may need to simplify it. Pay close attention to the wording of the question and any given instructions to determine whether simplification is necessary. If no specific instructions are provided, it's always a good idea to simplify the fraction to its simplest form, if possible. This can help make calculations and comparisons easier. Keep practicing and pay attention to the specific requirements of each question. Good luck with your TEAS preparation!
Are these ads a glitch? How are we supposed to learn if it goes to it before we even process what you said
I understand your frustration with the ads.
NOW IS THE TIME TO USE YOUR TRIAL
will i be able to take the math section before the reading part or do we have to go in order?
Great question, Paul Hoang 😊💜 Unfortunately, you will not have the ability to choose which section you want to start with. The exam will be administered in the Reading, Math, Science, English, and Language usage order. That would be helpful, though, for those who tend to struggle in certain areas.
For the median section if i have a even number how do i figure the middle number
So you only change the sign in inequalities equations when you multiply and divide?
Not in addition and subtraction
Great question Aeriol Geddis 😊💜 You will flip the inequality sign in two situations: (1) multiplication and division by negative numbers and with Absolute Value problems. I hope that helps clarify your question.
@@NurseCheung thank you so much
So out of 34 questions they chose what 18 will be scored ?
In the ATI TEAS math section, there are indeed two categories: "Number and Algebra" and "Measurement and Data." Each category consists of a fixed number of questions." However, it's important to note that the exact number of questions may vary slightly in different versions of the exam. It's advisable to thoroughly prepare for both categories to perform well in the math section. Good luck with your TEAS exam!
I am so scared to take the teas and what scares me the most is the math portion. I am not good at math at all :(
Absolutely, I hear you! Facing the TEAS, especially the math part, can feel daunting, but you've already shown such courage by stepping up to this challenge. Everyone has their own areas where they feel less confident, and it's completely normal. You're taking on something big, and that in itself is a huge accomplishment. Just keep moving forward with the confidence that you're doing your best. You've got the strength and resilience to handle this, and I believe in you! 🌟📚👍🍀
@@NurseCheung Thank you so much your words make me feel better and I am going to keep practicing until I take the test. Hopefully I can pass the first time and get into the program. And let me tell you that you are awesome, and I am not the smartest girl but everything you do it is absolutely amazing, I have learned a lot from your videos but still I have lot more to learn. Thank you very much ☺
Great!
Thank you for the kind feedback AlmostAboutEverything 😊💜
I'm still stuck on the plumber and solving for h🥴
we get a calculator? :o oh my goodness i dont have to worry then. I know how to do math and know almost every formula below calculus but i suck at calculating. If we get a calculator then jeez i can ace the math.
This is helpful but I think a person needs a basic ground work for Algebra first to understand most that is being presented.
Thank you for your feedback! You make an excellent point. Indeed, having a basic understanding of Algebra can be beneficial when delving into more complex concepts. If you feel like you need to strengthen your foundational skills in Algebra, I encourage you to explore resources that cover the fundamental principles before diving deeper into advanced topics. Best of luck in your studies, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further assistance! 🌟📚
I take my test in 10 hours 🙃
Wow, so the big moment is right around the corner! 😄 I can imagine you might be feeling a mix of nerves and excitement - totally normal. Just take a deep breath, trust in all the preparation and hard work you've put in, and you'll do great. Remember, it's all about doing your best, and you're more than ready for this challenge. Go out there and show that test what you're made of! You've got this! 🌟📚💪🕒 Good luck!
@@NurseCheung I definitely passed because of you!
I couldn't see the number were way to small.
Thank you for your feedback, Debbie. I am sorry to hear that the font size was too small for you. I will pass along your suggestion to make it larger to our team. Thank you for providing your feedback!
