Japanese Breakfast is the lo-fi project of Michelle Zauner, songwriter and former frontman of the rollicking indie punk band Little Big League. As Japanese Breakfast, Zauner retains the loose structure and fervent energy of her old band but with a more subdued, patient approach. The result is a brooding brand of experimental indie pop with orchestral and electronic inspirations. Check out the performance by Japanese Breakfast on Audiotree Live.
Recorded on July 21, 2016, in Chicago, IL.

For the solo, does anyone know how she achieves that sound with her guitar? I hear that tone a lot in indie music and I enjoy it a lot.

She's definitely using a reverb pedal (not drenched in reverb tho) along with a hint distortion while on the middle pickup. A really good reverb pedal if you're looking for one would be the Electro Harmonix Cathedral reverb. It does wonders! Not sure of her exact one however.

      Angrymon16 than
Thank you! It's ok that you don't know the exact, but I was curious to know. You read my mind too because I was going to ask for a good pedal to use and you just gave me the suggestion. I'll definitely have to look into it now. Thanks again!

i think she may also be using a pedal that harmonizes or does a duplicate signal an octave lower.. something like digitech whammy perhaps... could be wrong
