if you need to change the shoes each time you change the blade you are letting the blade wear down to low before adjusting it. The shoes should never make contact with the walls.
My blade on 12 box is sliding more to one side then the other... so I need to take it out and center it back on the middle or can I just push it back to even out the sides
I know this is old but how do you get more crown on a new set of boxes. got a brand new set of tapetech set on zero they're still barely any crown if any and on one it's negative
I got a new blade for my super old ames 10 inch box, which works great, but I just got a columbia fat boy and it needs a new blade, the tt blade kit I bought looks exactly like the columbia kit? Any feed back?
Very useful video for a 1 year taper.... All your videos are great! Thank you for sharing so much
How can you tell if your blade needs adjusting or replaced? Does your box start leaving an edge?

Are all 10 inch flat box blades the same?

I work in southern california. We call them shoes also
If the blade is adjusted a thumb nail thickness proud of the shoes you wont leave edges and you wont have to replace your shoes.

Hey mate. Did you end up finding out if blades are interchangeable amongst the different brands?
Most brands are
box 7 that you used?
10
what brand box are you using?

Ps that box looks older then me
Jake Hynds boxes last a long time if you take care of them I have had mine 10 years
I call them shoes too ...if you don't tie your shoes you will be tripping over your own feet
Seems really complicated, can you make a video with more specific Instructions?
