For the people who don't know. Dead Plate is a game. It takes place in 1960's France. We play as Rody a "pathetic sopping wet mess of a man (the creators words)" Our girlfriend breaks up with us and instead of letting her go we start working at a bistro to save money to win her back. The owner of the bistro Vincent is gay (and can't taste anything) but has to date Rody's girlfriend because she wants to date him and he can't say no because her parents are famous food critics. Vincent falls in love with Rody and decides to cook the girlfriend for Rody. Rody finds out and there are 4 endings in one Rody burns the bistro with Vincent inside, in two endings Vincent(who's a lightweight) gets drunk and eats Rody because he thinks his love for Rody will bring his sense of taste back and in one ending both Rody and Vincent live because Rody never finds out what Vincent did.
honestly, Vincent is psychotic but he did all that for Rody because he most likely had the lovies for him. since Rody loved Manon so much, he decided to cook Rody’s love so that the dish was made with love, makes sense that a dish that’s someone’s literal girlfriend would be made with love. then, Vincent cooked Rody because he thought eating Rody would actually get him to taste the love that’s put into the food, but he ends up not tasting anything and maybe regrets it in the ending where Rody dies. just a theory but yeahhh
