Hi George! It would be awsome if you could do a tank like this with maybe 1vid per week showing how you manage the hardest part of a planted tank process (1st few months).. I have eat, sleep, breath aquascaping for 3 years now and finally got my dream set up similar to this one and im struggling with brown algea, black purple slime and Dennerle vitro plants melting. I always wonder how you professionals get thru the hardest part a new tank set up. So frustrating when I have put so much time, $$, and effort reading and making sure all parameters are correct to still struggle! All videos on the Net are setup and maintenance videos. But none show how you get to that established grown in tank. Also none teaching how to really grow plants and spotting when they are not growing and why. Sorry so long but any advice is appreciated! Love what you do brother. Cheers!!

+BAMAZ#1 Thanks! I think the key is loads of water changes in the early stages. Good CO2 and circulation too. I usually put loads of CO2 in at start with no livestock.

George Farmer thanks! I have achieved success which is my thumbnail pic but it took me 4 months of a roller coaster ride. I know it's basically experience but when plant buying is limited due to $$, shipping, etc. Sometimes I only get one shot. I'm currently trying to grow all my plants I collect emersed so that will not be a problem. Again thanks for the time George! Not to bother you I know your a busy man but is there another media forum to ask you questions sometimes that you would prefer? If you do such a thing? If not I completely understand I'm sure u have 100s of me bugging u! :) I'm actually a stay at home dad now and live in a part of the U.S where this hobby is not known much and my Dream is to bring it to life here and make a career somehow doing so... Again thanks!

    Hi George,
Another great looking tank! What fertilizers are you using and is that tap water or RO water?
    Thanks in advance
    Ross

Hi Ross - I'm using TNC Complete, 10ml per day. Tap water (hard).

hello George lovely iwagumi, quick question what do you do with the hair grass runners? do you let them mix with the mont carlo carpet or do you trim or pluck them out , the hair grass in my tank is planted around the stones and I'm unsure wether to pluck the runners that are mixing with the mont carlo carpet in the front or wether to leave them and if its ok to do so as i don't want the runners to effect the root growth of the mont carlo. thanks

Did you use JBL volcano mineral as a bottom layer?
