Official data on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. honestly, anything lighter and smaller than this.. thing they call X"M" would've been better. To say it blunt, any real car as anniversary M would be cool, instead we get something twice as huge as a car (you probably can park another car inside that thing), and twice as heavy as a car, and half as streamlined as a car. Don't get me started about the questionable design, which is indistinguishable from any other car make if you remove the logo. No clear "this is a BMW".
And THAT one especially for the 50! year anniversary. if it wouldn't be sad it would be hilarious. At least I did not see the M colors on that car yet.

Rumours the CSL homage is getting made for it with the M4 platform as a very limited run. We will see though. I doubt it.
@@robc1014 they posted a video a few months ago about 'saving the date.' There's a hint everyone overlooked. For less than a second, the headlights of BMW Vision M was shown so I expect they're making an i8 successor.

My thoughts exactly. Would’ve been the perfect way to re-introduce the M1. Looking at the i8, a modern day M1 could turn out incredible. The XM is the grand total of all the horrible trends that BMW keeps feeding off of. I hope I don’t see an XM in person.
@@robc1014 it would be nice. But a homage isn't what I was after. Sure the sense of nostalgia is good. But at the end of the day, the homage will always be a flippin limited edition car that sits in a showroom for 50 years until its worth tens of millions. To me..its just another prototype.
It's never going to be a car for todays world. The point of the present is to advance and progress. Not go back.
And where do I see this in terms of BMW's future? Nowhere...its just a one of model for a few people that can get their hands on it. It's not for the millions of BMW Or M fans...its for a few billionaires that are invited. Its their celebration..not ours.

I am not a fan of SUVs, but the XM is nonsense. a "car" they made for their 50 year M anniversary. 2700kg [it's twice what an usual M should weigh] and whatever horsepower [doesn't matter] and ugly as hell [my opinion ](can't differ it from other car manufacturers if you remove the logo)

Für mich war damals (1986) der E30 M3 als 18-jähriger unbezahlbar. Aber ich wusste '86 schon, dass ich irgendwann in diesem Leben einen M mein Eigen nennen werde. Was soll ich sagen? Heute fahre ich einen F83 M4 Competition, ich habe mir meinen Traum erfüllt. Und wie! Den F83 gebe ich nicht mehr aus der Hand.
Und den Nachfolger G83 M4 nimmt der Biberzähnchen-Schrotthändler gerne entgegen.
