KRS is a little bit before my time...I caught a show maybe 20 years ago in a 1.5k arena and it is still one of the best live performances I have seen. He wasn't lying.
The MC is one of my favourite songs of all time. You should definitely continue exploring his catalogue. Here are some lesser known songs I personally like too: "Hip Hop Knowledge" from the album "Sneak Attack" and "I get Wrecked" from Tim Dog's album "Do or Die". 🎧🎧🎧

Funny thing about this is that KRS-ONE is on record saying he wanted to make a pop album. He wanted to make a Gold record. Even then he was a masterclasses in EMCing.
Glad you’re committing to digging into this man’s catalog…he’s a Hip-Hop giant. I’ve left suggestions for which of his songs to check for on previous videos so, I’ll just leave you with one that’s not one of his more popular songs…but it will leave you shaking your head…

I actually forgot about this one. To this day, 13 and Good is one of the craziest tracks heard and videos I’ve ever seen!! That video is like a short drama film.
I also told Ahmad to review “We In There”. And “Conscious Style” with Wise Intelligent.
This is my favorite K-R-S One song.
I work in a group home with shorties in Chicago and one of them loves “Love’s Gonna Getcha,” so I’d recommend that one as one of most timeless of KRS’s classics. Great and memorable story and message, plus dope video.
I experienced KRS live in Australia , the man rocks the crowd live like a true MC..
You gotta do "Sound of da Police" it's essential. My favorites are A Friend, Criminal Minded, Jack of Spades, My Philosophy, Illegal Business... He's still killin it too check out "Black Black Black" down the line. Too many bangers to count!

Saw him in a tiny club show like 12 years ago with Busy Bee backing him. He starts the show, and like 2 songs in sees two young men in the crowd, probably 7 and 9 years old. He stops the show, goes "okay we had a list planned out but I see these two young men here so we're gonna switch it up, teach them about the world and themselves, class is now in session." Teacher mode was engaged, he switched the whole shit up from the raw boom bap stuff he started out with to My Philosophy, Why is That, etc. He's got a bag of albums deep enough to pull from to change the whole concept of the show around like that and the skill to remember all that flawlessly even if the DJ he had couldn't quite keep up. Ripped the stage just as hard as if he was doing the original raw shit, skills just that solid. As a complete entity, all the elements that make an MC, he is that man.
You have to, have to, react to "Love's Gonna Get Ya" if you haven't yet. It's top tier KRS. Your pops would love it.

My friends and I were listening to this album heavily for a whole year, still to this day I go back and play it often. He was already a GOAT then in 97 and was only in the game for 10 years at that point. He's only gotten better with time. Keep on listening to his work, he's on another level. Saw your Daytona 500 video and subscribed off that one alone. Love seeing and hearing the younger generations react to the Golden Era of Hip Hop! Much love Brother ✌🏽️
