Look up the festival of Saturnalia you'll see loads of similarities between that and the morden pagen festival of Christmas

If anyone is wondering how the mistletoe kiss at Christmas started it dates back to the roman festival of Saturnalia (the god Saturn) which lasted until the 23rd of December and was considered to be a blessing of fertility especially in weddings (a common feature in classical Greece) and Saturn was a god of fertility too so I guess they just linked the two up

We kick off Christmas officially on Thanks Giving. Tree and decorations and lights, the whole kaboodle. Then new year and what not. THEN comes The Three Kings day. Thats on January 6. Its basically second Christmas. Then come the Festival of the Saint Sebastian street. Which is one of the most important celebrations here. You know in norse mythology the Aesir God Baldur was really popular among people across Asgard and Midgard and Loki was jealous of baldur and he pulled a trick or test or a challenge that nothing could kill him which turned out to be collateral damage, so loki threw mistletoe at baldur and it peirced him through and through after his death Frigg (Freya) vowed that mistletoe will never again be used as a weapon and will be a symbol of love and to plant a kiss on all those who passed beneath it.
