Thank You, I use a cloth wrap around my knee (picked up at CVS). all it does is remind me to bend my knee when walking. Some times my knee gives out and hyperextends. When this happens I use the MASTED KNEE BRACE from INSIGHTFUL PRODUCTS mostly for knee hyperextension. I use this usually once a month for a day or so. Then my knee will be fine. A good training brace. I am also doing all sorts of routines the strengthen the knee and the foot. I am learning a lot from your video's.

I'm a big proponent of your videos. As a certified prosthetist-orthotist I direct all my prosthetic patients to your gait training series.
I do have to comment on the verbage of this video. The term "orthotic" or "brace" is incorrect. The correct term for any of what you are describing would be "orthosis." Orthotic is an adjective, and often times gets confused with custom foot orthoses (commonly called foot orthotics or shoe inserts incorrectly). Brace is a very general term that does not adequately define orthoses. The term orthosis refers to custom made or custom fit items that are provided for medical purposes (i.e. stability, gait improvement, contracture management, etc). In our allied health realm it's important to get the terminology right out of respect for each other and to provide proper patient care.

Hi John, thanks so much for your support, we really appreciate that!
Thank you for the heads up on terminology. We have completed filming for this series so you may notice similar word choices in the rest of this series, but we will definitely keep this in mind when filming the next series.
      Thanks again for watching!

As an O&P resident, thank you for saying that! I thought the same thing. It's also nice to see that Mission Gait will strive to improve their choices of words next time.
