The Chronicles of Amber series was one of my favorites. It sounds like you enjoy fantasy too. But I really recommend Lord of the Rings. It’s the granddaddy of all fantasy stories, the whole genre really. I’ve read it over and over. Don’t be afraid!
If you like historical fiction, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Essex Dogs (and its sequel. The third book is coming sometime in 2025) by Dan Jones. It's so fun, gory, and different from everything else I've read in that genre. The characters are very memorable. It introduces topics that you wouldn't normally see in historical fiction, especially more "masculine" historical fiction. I also recommend The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. It's a realistic take on alien planets and how society would maneuver discovering alien life. It's pretty interesting, albeit bleak. Really beautiful story. It has a sequel, too.
Check out The Prince of Nothing Trilogy by R. Scott Bakker! If you do, and enjoy them, then move on to the Aspect Emperor Quadrilogy. Also: The Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin!
@@OrchidxxI just read The Inmate with my book club last month!! Holy moly it was so good! 🤯 also @Bozo I reckon you’d like the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga if you haven’t already read it
Love when I open the TH-cam app to sleep and see a new video of yours! Love the candle and low lighting in today’s video! Hope your well -a usually quiet subscriber who felt like saying hi and thanking you for all the relaxation!
Thank you. The lighting in this one was kinda an accident. My camera kept trying to auto correct the light. Made it look different. You should say hi more often 😁 love hearing from everyone
Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. I just finished book one and LOVED it, and while I’m waiting to buy the second book as a hard copy(they look great on the shelf!) I’d recommend the series. I’ve only heard great things about the author. Thanks for the super chill relaxing vibes-exactly what I needed.
You should give lord of the rings a second try! Or at least read the books, the story is amazing and if you read it you can do it at your own pace. My brother listened to the audio book version and it helped him finish the story even with all the long, drawn out, descriptive parts. 😂
Silent watcher here but i absolutely so love this video. The switches between your whispers were soooo good. Added bonus for me cause I like the topics you discussed 🤩
you have to have to have to give the hobbit another go! it is the perfect, light-hearted adventure book! it is so so comforting and wonderful! and a classic :)
I could talk tour ear off for hours about how much I love Lord of the Rings. If you liked Game of Thrones, I think you should give LotR another shot. It's got action, romance, mystery, fantastical beings, magic, everything you could ask for in a fantasy series. And it ends well, has amazing fight scenes, wonderful messages of hope and courage, and nighttime scenes you can actually see. Plus, the music is to die for. There's nothing wrong with pausing for breaks! And there's also nothinh wrong with liking children's books as an adult if you wanted to try reading The Hobbit again. If you want a more action-y version of it that isn't super true to the book (but still good and entertaining) the Hobbit movies are actually pretty good and worth the watch
I haven't read the books since about 2013 and I remember them being a little hard to follow, although that may have had something to do with being in junior high. But I thought they were good. Tolkien is pretty long-winded and his pages are very information-dense. The movies are very true to the events of the books for the most part, without all the scenery descriptions, so if the books are too much, you can always try the movies instead 😉
You weren't kidding about being able to talk my ear of for hours :P probably the longest comment I've gotten on the channel. Actually love the enthusiasm and probably would sit there and let you chat my ear off :P I'll definitely have to give the movies a second chance to see if it was just how I watched them that made me not like it. The books however I'm still torn on if I should read or not.
@KingBozoASMR Sorry for making you read a novel. I may be as long winded as Tolkien himself. But I literally could go on and on 😂 I'm glad you enjoyed the enthusiasm at least!
@KingBozoASMR I would highly recommend watching them again. My cousin rewatched them for the first time in years the other day and said she liked them a lot better this time, much better than the first time she saw them. Sometimes your first watch-through of something is just to learn the events, and the second time is for enjoyment. I will absolutely talk your ear (or i guess in this case your eyes) off for hours if you don't stop me, so I'll cut myself off there
@@ThatOneRedHairedGirl I'll be sure to let you know what I think when I do rewatch the films. It's okay ramble all you want. I enjoyed reading what you had to say 😁
just wanted to let you know this is maybe the fifth night in a row i’ve put on this video because it’s reliably knocked me out so fast even with a nasty cold!! i always end up falling asleep right after you talk about the lord of the rings and think to myself that a soft spoken read-along of the long drawn out descriptions could make for a great video :) and then i fall asleep and forget to comment haha.
i don’t know if you read manga but there’s a series called Bungo Stray Dogs I love. it’s got all sorts of media you can intake- a main series, an alternative universe with 5 volumes, and 9 light novels. i’ve been on the hunt for the light novels and i love the first addition so far (it’s my biggest hyperfixation lol).
I really like Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. Dunno if it was mentioned here ‘cause I was half asleep when I wrote this ~_~ I also recommend the Shannara books by Terry Brooks if you want to binge a lengthy completed series Hope you find something you like, happy reading!
Hey bozo, long time no talk lol Took a bit of a break from instagram (again), and surprisingly haven't watched much asmr lately (this is my first video I've watched in like 2 months😳) life has been busy, so busy that when i get to bed i just fall asleep in my dark room and that's enough for me to fall asleep lmao. Hope you've been well
I hope you've been well too, glad to see you back. One of my mates keeps recommending Vinland saga to me, I was thinking about watching the anime instead of reading the manga but maybe ill do both. I loved the Alice in Wonderland world too. Mostly because it felt like it had so many hidden secrets to find. Well I love the whole game, so that might have been an obvious thing to say :P Really am glad to see you back again, stay safe out there.
The Ardor Benn series is really good if you like epic fantasies! They're nice and thick and there's 3 of them, so they'd keep you busy for a hot minute.
Give Dandadan a try it’s a spectacular manga series. And the new anime is a great adaptation. If you’re looking for a good series all of Brandon Sanderson books are awesome. Mistborn is a great start.
I have read some of Dandadan. It good but I think i would have like it more if I was 14 when reading it. I've been slowly watching the anime and it's animation and music makes for a more enjoyable viewing experience.
Anybody got any good book series recommendations? I'd love to hear them
If you’re into thrillers I’d recommend the housemaid series by Frieda McFadden
I’m obsessed with McFaddens work. My personal fav is The Inmate

As a western Canadian, Australian youtuber uploads always come at the perfect time.
