Even the song "Look But Don't Touch", which came out 6 days before the show, was literally played to a T. You can't be on point 100% of the time but they damn well are 99% of it.
Gorgeous! I love classical style guitar, nylon strings, and all of the highly talented musical skill in acoustic guitar music you rarely hear anymore. Even if it isn't technically acoustic, like an Ovation guitar, I love it!
It's creepy how the whole video, Tim not only looks possessed, but when it goes back to the podcast, it adds a real nice touch hearing Tim talk, and the fact it all adds up about the Bossa Nova vibes.

I think its a bit silly to lose faith in musicianship, young people will always stumble across progressive music and push themselves, no matter how niche those genres are. There are massively popular progressive bands around now, same as there always has been. There's also always been an abundance of shit coming out into the industry. It seems odd to have your perspective shift over time towards 'musicianship' dying out when music and instrument players have always culturally been extremely significant in every society that's existed and been documented. I don't mean to be patronising, its just worth keeping in mind whenever you feel that musicianship is dying that you are likely projecting based off emotion rather than facts, you might be going through a phase of being disinterested in music, but that sure as hell doesn't mean that someone right now isn't composing a masterpiece.

They’re playing the vocals on the guitar. For instance the beginning guitar solo after Tim’s intro in God ,is not a guitar solo! It’s simulating a🔥azz rapper ,coming out hard AF and dropping the first verse! Immediately after Tim Henson then drops his verse just as 🔥! Their music is based on musicians writing ,composing and mixing all genres of music. Creating all the bass parts,vocal structures,guitar harmony’s ,hip hop rap and R&B vocals ,then playing them all at once, together on just a guitar done by one person ,or in this case ,individually buy each of the two guitar players. Polyphia simply mixes all genres of music ,their rock and rap harmonies and their vocal lyrics ,then all written,composed and played on a single guitar ,wether they’re live or in studio! It’s one man doing what a 5 piece band can barely all do together and it’s Ultra impressive to say least. Unequivocally this is next level complicated music with more emotion and structure than some give them credit for! The bottom line is It’s not just music but artistic writing and musical brilliance at some of it’s absolute finest and most genius! As a professional studio musician ,Drummer and lead guitarist I can say I both hear and feel the absolute magnificence of Polyphia! -Crisis

Your dog has got this man! My 1st comment on your page. Moved to Spring Hill, TN about 4 years ago now. Originally from Bozeman, MT, so I very much enjoyed the Music Villa bit lol. I was in a punk band back in MT as a bassist/lead singer, but always really liked guitar. I just picked up guitar playing again after a LONG hiatus, largely in thanks to channels like yours. I’m thankful that the mighty TH-cam algorithm brought me to your channel. So much valuable info, humor, and exposure to bands that I probably would never have heard of otherwise….just like Periph er Polyphia. Anyway, thanks for doing what you do. Cheers - Jason.
Brazil here: they just removed the downbeat of bossa, and just kept the accents. It sounds amazing. The drums were nowhere near bossa and yet sounded amazing. Same with bass keeping the chill hiphop beat vibe. Tip: (Pronounce "bawsah nawvah", but cut the "w" sound, and keep the vowel sound. The w makes you sound full gringow). It just baffled me how they were so bold to even try it.
You guitar example of bossa isnt wrong, but very characteristic of João Gilberto's (Zhoawn (nasaled) Zhilbertoh with "zh" sounding like portuguese J) broken bossa style. Classic bossa usually has the Root of the chord and the 5th below on the 2 beat feel (1R and 2(5thlow) and), be it natural or diminished 5th.

I'm an old progressive rock band lover and these guys give me hope musicianship is still alive.
