Mountain bike packing the Colorado Trail. Day 1, Sunday, June 23, 2024, Littleton, Denver, Colorado. The high temperature of the day was 96 degrees Fahrenheit.
Segment 2 - South Platte River Trailhead to Little Scraggy Trailhead. Starting altitude of 6,117 feet. Distance of 11.5 miles, with 2,482 feet of climbing. THERE IS NO WATER ALONG THIS SEGMENT. Water is found (1) at the beginning of the segment from the South Platte River, (2) and at the Firehouse at the end of the segment at mile 10.1 when you reach the paved road.

Yep. 2 years in a row and I can't seem to beat the summer heat in Colorado. Next year I am starting the first week of June!
