I once had someone tell me that if I cut out spending on coffee, they said that too me in a student union while I was drinking what is a $1.50 cup of coffee, that in a year I would save 10K. I said, "you mean all unneeded spending." He replied, "No just the coffee." Me, "So, you think that if I don't spend $1.50 a day each day that in a year that equals 10K?" Him, "It does, do the math." Then he walked off all smug. It equals $547.50, so you know just a "little" shy of 10k. LOL
😂😂 the fact that he walked off smug makes it even funnier. I know for a fact he replayed that proud moment in his head and was struck with HORROR when he realised he was wrong. 😂😂
I thought I was the only one that caught that 😂😂 Also is 2,000 in the bank middle class? I thought it would be more tbh I’m genuinely curious I grew up dirt poor with negatives in the bank account so I have no idea
@@MiVidaBellisimait can definitely be middle class. She should have asked what his net worth is. I consider myself middle class. I have 2k in my checking account but way more in my savings account and even more in investments.

Well done! I opened a ROTH IRA the day I turned 18. I’m in my 50’s, born into generational wealth but I’ve never touched any of it. I worked for everything I have and respect what I have. We taught our kids the same as my dad taught me.
Hearing the first guy say lifestyle creep made me proud of myself because my husband and I almost bought a 5 bedroom house just to have extra space like his and her offices and a play room and an exercise room but we “settled” for something half the size so we never have to move again unless it’s into an elderly community lol
I know people don’t like videos of trauma and mistakes from others but I do. Not to make fun of them or feel better but that we are all not alone. We have all made some type of mistake and our stories can help each other to not do it or to not feel disconnected. It’s easy to feel the weight of life when we don’t hear others stories. But no.. you are truly never alone in your actions. There is someone out there who has done it or is struggling currently too.
Here is a tip for getting a used car: when taking it for a test drive, go to an INDEPENDANT mechanic to get a look over! Get a report if possible, and then you can use that to negotiate a reasonable price.
Yeah I took mine to two different places one quoted me over 2000 they told me a different issue kept saying maybe the issue is (they just said whatever). I went to a ford dealership after they inspected my car and they told me it’s dangerous to drive it. It cost 1015 to fix issue my ac is working now with no issue now since they fixed the problem with my car.
My husband and I met young, I was 19 and he was 22. We were both going to university so we lived together, saving every penny we could, graduated and got married in the courthouse. The money we saved went towards a down-payment on our now beautiful home which we now own. Thirty years later and we have a nice nest egg for our retirement. Be smart people, start saving as soon as you can. Love your videos, thank you❤ Edit to add we have never had credit card debt because we don't have credit cards.

I hate the whole: you should have this amount at this age. I lost allot of my savings because of corona. I had lost my work and nobody was hiring anymore in the beginning / first year. So I had to use my savings for my rent and groceries etc.
I have student loans that I’m paying off. There’s always a minimum amount that you have to pay each month. I always pay it twice a month. Meaning I pay double. It’s been 4 years since I finished college and I’ve already taken $6k off of the interest alone.
I watch your videos often! Can we hear more stories about mistakes you have made or funny mindsets you had in the past? I love that you always think of the ideal way to handle a situation. It just seems like you’ve never been through anything.
I'm retired now and have zero debt. Have some small investments that add to my very low social security. I've always lived below my means and I'm glad I learned to be frugal. If you don't have the money, don't buy it.
Stock picking is just gambling in the stock market. It is just as addictive. It is just as much the house wins, only when the "house wins" in stock pick EVERYONE lost.
I bought Reddit stock for 35, sold it for 40, it went up to 60, dropped back to 50, I bought again, sold it when it rose a few bucks. Then it shot up to 150. . . . . . .
With the cost of living here in the UK and no bank of Mum and Dad, my husband and I have been working for the past ten years to save up 10k with the hope of buying a house one day while staying out of debt. Those that have to start with nothing, I feel you 😅
My worst financial decision this year was opening a salon loft 💔💔😖😖 i really thought i had what it took to bring people in and make a book!!! I was wrong…….. now im broke as i was in high-school
I've never heard of that before. Is that like a hair salon? Can you partner with anyone to help promote your business? First year if a business is always the worst. If you can hold on it will hopefully get better 🙏🏾
if you are self employed (and in america), don't wait until tax season to pay your taxes... pay them quarterly. pay them when you get a substantial chunk of money. PAY 👏 YOUR 👏 TAXES 👏 see a tax professional if you have to. the IRS is the scariest entity in america by a wide margin, and they WILL get their cut. The lady that says to pay off your student loans is right! I just started doing that this year and am now debt free with so much more money left over. I shouldn’t have put it off for so long. I’m very fortunate to have not had interest accrue on them yet too. Get out from under them y’all 😊
Girl, I used to do new cars because of long commutes and needing for sure reliability. Now that I don't, I have a used car and love it. It does what we need, it's reliable, and it works for our family of four. I double I'll buy another vehicle prior to my youngest being able to drive either (he's 1 on Monday). I will say though, I wish I could save more. But my maternity stripped us down hard so we're rebuilding from that.
I had a credit card and one of my pets had an emergency. Of course I was stupid in my 20s and didn't start a savings. I had no credit. So this card was a necessity. Thankfully this card i used for thr Vet was 6 months no interest. That would be the only thing with the "buy now pay later" is ok if.you can afford to pay it off BEFORE the 6 months is over. Which i did. I also save 65 dollar a day, so by the time I can retire, I'll have a nice little nest egg, over 100,000. Hopefully the dollar won't die before then lol.
I got my car from Facebook marketplace plus it’s a Honda and I paid it off in full so. I focus on those cars that last longer than let’s say Honda. I’m proud of me

I dissolved 90% of my 401k to take care of expenses my husband and I had on credit cards and when these credit cards were finished with the introductory 0% interest. We blew all the money. We could blame each other but the money is gone. We’re in 10k debt on credit cards now. 😢

I got a somewhat slightly used car it’ll be 2 yrs since I got it in May. I’m trying to pay as much of it as I can at the moment since the interest adds almost 100 a month. Rn I owe 11,320. I had an issue with the ac a few months ago had to pay 1,015 since ig there was a huge issue with the vehicle I have a 2020 ford fusion. The insurance is about 170. This car loan stresses me out
29:30 look I’m not the smartest when it comes to financial decisions but, even as a kid, watching the price is right, I thought about the fact that people would need to pay for car loans on their “generous” gift of a new car😅
@ I mean they kind of do give it to them but with strings attached essentially😕. To be clear: by car loans, I specifically meant insurance, maintenance, etc.. I figured that part out after deliberating with myself about the fairness of paying for a rando’s car fees forever vs just buying the car in cash for them (and because I had a good enough understanding of money and car ownership by the time I was hooked on PiR) lol. I concluded that it was generous enough to pay for the car but the insurance and maintenance costs aren’t really the show’s responsibility. That lined up with reality, sadly. Later in life I found out that winnings are also taxable. So that throws another curveball at you because cars, houses, vacations aren’t normally considered as part of your income. But because you were “lucky” you could get shot up into a different tax bracket and be legally held liable. And no one seems to tell you this up front…thinking about this all again is making me sad🥹
