It’s so wonderful to see a young lady take interest in needlework. Your piece are lovely and your quilt is incredible! Hats off to your grandmother for passing down the love of needle and thread. ❤

I recently became a grandmother and can not wait to share the craft with my Pippa!! How proud and happy your grandmother must be to see how thoughtfully you have cherished and cared for her crafting. You have given us older stitchers joy in your youthful enthusiasm for cross stitching! Welcome and I look forward to seeing more of your stash! Also a fellow western New York from Medina! 😊

Your video was great and I just love your quilt. Both of your cross stitch finishes were amazing. The girl at the Lighthouse❤❤. Don’t feel the pressure for more WIPS. I’ve found that people frenzy into this and then their tastes and abilities change. And then it’s money wasted. Thx too for sharing who you like to watch. I found 2 new floss tubers. Enjoy. Kate

Nice to meet you. Pennsylvania here. I learned a lot of stitching from my mom. When I got older I taught her the new stitches. I’m now 71 and I’ve been stitching now with my daughter and granddaughters. ❤️

Terrific job, Rachel. I also learned how to stitch from my grandmother (I’m a grandmother now myself) and it’s a gift from her that I treasure. You’re very sweet and doing a lovey job! That piece you did that reminds you of your Maine family vacations looks like Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Be proud of all your accomplishments, keep learning and sharing!

Thank you! As a new cross stitcher (1 FFO, 1 FO, 3 WIPS) seeing the tape you had around the edges of your older pieces solved a problem I was having with the latest project I am working on. I may try the blanket stitching too on a future project.
As an old quilter (20+ years), your quilt project came out great! And it is perfect: it's finished, you get to actually see and enjoy the embroideries and if it gets displayed (whether on a wall or a lap) it's now a useful item. Sounds perfect to me!

Rachel, I think you did fabulous, especially for a first flosstube. What a joy to watch. Your stitching is really lovely. They girl at the lighthouse is so beautiful!! I really like the way the succulent is framed. The succulent looks like it would be a labor of love as there are so many colors. Beautiful! What a treasure to have your grandmother's blocks and beautiful way to honor her putting them into a quilt. It will now be an heirloom. I did similar blocks when I was a teenage and made a couple of baby quilts with them. One last thing, I had never seen the grid method, great idea. Wonderful flosstube. I've like and subscribed! 😊😊Thanks for sharing your love of stitching. ♥️ Happy Holidays 🎄

If you want some other ones to check out, there's The Seattle Stitcher, Marjorie Made, Cam the Stitcher, and me! We all joined flosstube in 2022 too! Also, your quilt is amazing, what an awesome way to use some special vintage stitching! I'm a mostly self-taught quilter too and love seeing both of the crafts! Thanks for sharing!

As a grandma that learned crafts from my grandma, it makes me feel so good to hear you value your grandma's cross stitch things. Your work is beautiful and don't worry that things aren't "perfect". Your quilt is so precious and your skills will naturally improve with time. I am looking forward to watching you grow through your stitching journey. You have some very impressive pieces for being a youngun’! 😉 Your framed girl with lighthouse - beautiful!!! I’m 63; I, too, inherited a lot of embroidered pieces from my grandmother. And I, too, (after I retired from working) learned how to piece a quilt by putting those embroidered pieces into a quilt top. However, I took it to a long arm quilter for the quilting and finishing. I have quite a few more of grandmother’s embroidered blocks that still need to be pieced into quilts. Someday…. I love that you cherish the work you inherited; my 36 year old daughter appreciates those things, but to my disappointment has no desire to own them. ☹️ Merry Christmas!

Welcome Loved your content. Your story is very parallel with mine. Looking forward to seeing your grandmother’s stash. Have a great holiday season. I watch two of your three floss tubers so another parallel. .

Great first video. I, too, live in Rochester, NY or perhaps a suburb northwest of the city. Hope your holiday trip brings you much haul and happy times.

I’m so happy I found your flosstube, great first! Your framed pieces look really good! It’s so sweet that your Grandma taught you to cross stitch, what wonderful memories❤️. Your first quilt is awesome and now makes you an official quilter - congrats!

You did a great job on your first video. The framed girl is beautiful as is your quilt. Your grandmother would be so proud of you.
