swapping my piercing jewelry for a curated ear | inspiroue

  • It's been a while since I've done a piercing video!! This one turned into a vlog of me changing my earrings for the first time on my own (I changed my conch, cartilage/helix and lobe piercings out). My anti-tragus was also acting up - I did a sea salt soak but I'll chat more about how I deal with flare ups and bumps in my next video!
    I'm filming a proper update/Q&A next so leave your questions in the comments!

    The hoops I ordered → bit.ly/revelmy...
    My goal was to swap out my starter titanium jewelry (what you get pierced with) for dainty hoops without having to buy super expensive jewelry right now. That's why I opted for these ones I found on etsy! Definitely want more accent pieces and dangly lobe jewelry (like threaders) from blu boho or bvla but I want to save some money to invest in ones I really want. So for now, I'm probably going to leave my ears like this lol. I just want to get more piercings when the studios open up!!

    Super real and interesting - thank you for sharing. I have had issues with my ears over the years. Now I'm slowly changing everything to bvla. It's expensive but I think over time / cost per wear it's worth it. I've found filled hurts my ears over time once the gold wears away. xx

    I actually just did this yesterday and last week and it was so stressful! My helix closed up twice i had to sit there and stick the post from the front until it opened 😖 and then a piercing I’d never had issues with all of a sudden started embedding the earring into my ear giving me a migraine... it was a mess. All because i got bored and wanted to switch them around. Should’ve just left them alone lol now I’m really unhappy with how they look. Ive had the worst problems with my second top helix and my two mid helixes. Everything else lobes, tragus, conch, and flats have been fine. Keep us updated with that antitragus - hope it heals soon,

    I have both conches pierced. The right one is done at 14 gauge, and the left was dermal punched at 4 gauge. I've never worn rings in either of them---really can't with the left---hole is too big, so I wear a tunnel in it. I tried a ring in the right, but the ring was too small of a diameter, and was uncomfortable, so back to a 14 gauge labret stud. All of my jewelry is implant grade anodized titanium, except for my 4 gauge holes, which use silicone tunnels. I really don't care for tiny jewelry. Yours looks great though. (Jan Griffiths).

      Bumps like that don't appear out of nowhere or overnight.
      First thing to do is get to the root of the problem. Don't sleep on it, don't touch it, don't twist or turn it, and don't forget to clean it.
      ^^if you are doing any of that, then stop doing it and problem solved. It might take a while to go away , but it will.
      Other people recommend diluted tea tree oil (just apply a bit on the bump [ *just the bump* ] until it goes away ).
      Edit: also, Studs are better than rings/hoops for healing faster cause they don't move as much.

  • @sitinajwa3616
    @sitinajwa3616 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Hi.....I love your minimalist earring jewellery. I like your conch the most and wondering how was the healing process with that one? Can u sleep on it comfortably or u use travel pillow to sleep? I was planning on getting one for my right ear and I was a side sleeper but I don’t like the idea of using travel pillow forever since I also have double helix on my left ear.

    • @cindylee6119
      @cindylee6119 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hey I know I’m not her but I have a conch piercing and thought I could help you out! Getting the conch was def a little painful but the pain fades after a while. You can’t sleep on it for a hot minute (about 6 months to a year) but I’ve found that travel pillows are really helpful! If you do get one, I REALLY recommend getting a stud because I’ve found that the larger starter hoops that you can get pierced with tend to rub against my pillow when sleeping causing piercing bumps. I’ve had mine for about two years now and it flairs up occasionally but it’s nothing a sea salt soak can’t fix. Hope this helps!

    • @inspiroue
      @inspiroue  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly what Cindy said! Def hey it pierced with a stud first and then swap to a hoop after it heals (I tried with a hoop first and that made it a nightmare) - I slept with a travel pillow for a while too (well just my arm curled up) hha hope this helps!! Sometimes I get lazy and still sleep on my sides when I shouldn’t and then I have to deal with the aftermath after (flare ups and irritation) lollll

    • @sitinajwa3616
      @sitinajwa3616 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cindy Lee thanks for the reply....I will consider getting the travel pillow then hehe.....although I’m so reluctant to use one 😂 but for the sake of piercing, I think I have to. Now, after 2 years, can u sleep with normal pillow already? I’m a little worry when u said it still flare up sometimes after 2 years.....I thought it is much better than helix piercing in term of healing.

    • @sitinajwa3616
      @sitinajwa3616 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      inspiroue oouuh....I really thought u did’nt use travel pillow previously haha.....guess there’s no option then to get travel pillow for me. My initial plan is to get it done with hoop as well but I’ve seen your previous videos when u change it to stud and I also thought your stud is cool so yeah I will get it done with studs first then maybe after it heals change it to hoop. 😊

    • @cindylee6119
      @cindylee6119 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      siti najwa Hey! Sorry for the late reply~ I sleep with a normal pillow now and my piercing is usually okay BUT sometimes I end up grinding my ear into my pillow when I sleep or getting it tangled in my hair which is always the reason why it flares up. As long as you’re relatively careful when sleeping I think you’ll be perfectly fine! I’m just really aggressive when sleeping I guess lol

    Hi there! Girl, I already have quadruple(4) earlobes piercings on BOTH my ears. I sure wouldn't have the PATIENCE to change those INNER ear piercings! • @saffirechanning7286
      @saffirechanning7286 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I must admit, since I have lots of non-iodized sea salt left, part of me really wants more ear piercings! That stuff is really great for helping piercings to heal. It definitely is better for the healing process than rubbing alcohol & hydrogen peroxide, which was what I used to heal my earlier lobe piercings.

    I know this is super late but if you wanted a hoop in your conch they would have placed it out more to help. I’ve had mine done twice and this last time I told them I wanted to place a hoop in it and it was way further out then my first time.

    • @annc9850
      @annc9850 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. Did mine twice for the same reason. The first time, I haven’t realized that all conch piercings would be perfectly fitted to support a hoop beautifully. Lesson learned. The second time, I asked the hole to be a little bit more “out” as you said.

    the reason you have a bump on your anti tragus is because of the type of jewlery youre wearing, youre supposed to wear a curved barbell. a hoop causes so much movement thats why you get irritation bumps, you sleeping on it makes it worse.

    if you are not sensitive to tea tree oil, a few drops on your anti-tragus should dry out the bump without creating any more irritation :)
