This is exactly what I want to become and the only thing I can see myself doing too. I’m working towards my nursing BSN and it’s so great how open and honest you are about your experience!
Last update: I just graduated from FNP school and will start my new job as a Derm/Aesthetic NP this August. Thank you again for being my inspiration! 🩷
Omg I’m so glad I found your channel! I am a 31 year old retired dietitian currently in an accelerated BSN program with the goal of becoming an aesthetic NP. My plan was to also do ICU for a year before going back for my DNP but wasn’t sure it ICU would mess me up and I would really be needing OR experience. I’m so happy to hear you followed the same path I’m planning! You’re such an inspiration!!
thank god i found you, as a freshman (actually a sophomore due to starting dual enrollment my senior year of hs) BSN student, my dream is to become a dermatologist nurse practitioner and seeing your video inspires me to become a DNP and go further into my future.
This video was extremely helpful in defogging my path, as I want to take the exact same route! You're my inspiration :) I am 20 and applying to BSN and RN programs for the spring!
Thanks for this video! The advice was great! DNP with cosmetic injectables seems chill and much better than the ER which I was originally thinking of going into!
Matthew Coyle you can definitely do both! I know some injectors who like to keep up their bedside nursing skills by working a couple times a week in the hospital and then a couple times a week at a med spa! 😊
I’m so happy that I found your video, very inspirational. I’m currently working on getting my BSN, and I want to become an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner one day in the future God willing. Praying that I will get my DNP💕
I’m graduating this upcoming April with my BSN and up until last month I had no clue which direction I wanted to take in nursing. I am so interested in cosmetic nursing now and know without a doubt it’s for me!! You’re goals 😍😍😍😍
Such an inspiration! Currently pursuing my PMHNP, BSN - DNP route. I completely understand the feelings of wanting to just be done and live a normal life w your friends. Thanks for reminding me it really will all pay off in the long run.
Your story was so inspiring! A good reminder that what is for you is for you and sometimes a 'no' is the best thing that could happen to you- even if you don't recognize it at the time.
Hi Anisa! Great video, I really enjoyed watching it. I’m currently in nursing school and have always been interested in this field. You should do an internship/shadowing program! I know many people would love to learn from your mastery & hollistic approach, including myself. I look forward to new videos :)

Thank you girl for the inspiration, im in nursing school right now and its really depressing when you work hard and dont do well im trying to push through this
@@beautyboostmedspa thank u so much for the motivation dear. I will pursue this dream although it will take time.. but I will push through it no matter what and no matter what the odds will be.

I might take a medical aesthetic course and a botox course so I can get some experience. Hopefully I can become a DNP also! You're a great inspiration for us! Thank you so much for this information!

You got this! I’ve been considering Med school as well but I’m still tied between Derm NP and Dermatologist especially since they have such different lengths.
I love your channel!! I just finished undergrad at UCSD, and will be applying to grad school this fall! Hoping to pursue a similar path! Would love to see a video on how you started your own business!:)
i want to be a nurse practitioner! can I legally own my own medspa? my parents are business owners and i want to some how combine entrepreneurship w/ medicine!
Thank you for this video!! I'm currently studying nursing and my main focus is to work in cosmetic dermatology. I thought that the only way of doing that was by going to med school (which is something I don't really want, it's many years of training, as well as the surgery part which I'm not interested in) ultimately, decided to pursue nursing bc of the approach and how versatile it is since I'm interested in labor and delivery Nursing and NICU areas as well. The fact that you got to have your own med spa is very inspiring and reassuring that I could do the same since opening a clinic would be amazing! Since I'm graduating circa 2026, apparently is necessary for me to have a DNP instead of a MSN so this video was very useful. Thank you again! Wishing you the best x Edit: If you see this, is there any difference inthe scope of practice between a DNP and a Cosmetic dermatologist (MD)?
I will be 27 when I graduate with my DNP and want to go into dermatology!! I have been SO nervous about it because I am an ED RN so I have no dermatology experience but your story gives me hope!
Thank you so much for your video. Just graduated nursing school and I will be taking the NCLEX the next month. I was discouraged because my GPA was around that which you mentioned. After hearing your video I am so encouraged to go back to grad school in a couple years. 😭
Congrats on finishing nursing school! That’s the hardest part! And good luck on your NCLEX! Becoming an NP was the best decision I made with my nursing career so I highly recommend you go to grad school sooner than later :)
wow I wish I heard this video at age 23. I'm 26 starting to get my DNP and I hope it's not too late! What would you recommend me doing while I'm in school? I already have almost 3 years of ICU experience. Thanks Anisa, you've really inspired me!
wow this is an amazing story! i am currently in DNP school and want to get into medical aesthetics when i graduate, do you have any advice on finding a good teacher or provider to learn from aside from looking at their work and seeing who best fits your style?
Love this video. I too want to be a DNP in dermatology. But due to life issues I'm now pursuing my master in FNP and hopefully I'll get to do my practicum in dermatology
So after the ICU you went straight into DNP school? I want my DNP as well and am starting a RN med surg job, planning on working there for a year. Do you see any value in gaining experience as a cosmetics nurse first before NP school?
Yes, exactly! I think it’s such a smart idea to get any and all injector experience as an RN before you become an NP so that you have a good foundation to build off of when you’re ready to practice independently :)
Anisa Munshi yes! I’m from the DMV area but there are a lot more aesthetics job openings in California! Definitely can see myself living there. Thanks for your feedback
Your video was very informative 🙌🏽. I have my BSN and have worked at the hospital with surgical inpatients and more recently with outpatient surgeries. I’ve been thinking about going into similar work you do. I love aesthetics and being pampered! What steps would you suggest I start taking towards this goal??

Sophia K. Martin Hi Sophia! I would listen to your gut and not what others say. If you’d like to pursue FNP, do it! Where there’s a will, there’s a way. This applies to getting into Derm after FNP as well! 💗
Please please help me. I have a bachelors in business which I love, but I have ALWAYS had a passion for beauty and aesthetics AND SCIENCE! just like you. What is a good way to transition into this field without going into a ton of debt, while having quality experience, and finding the right program to enroll not (and for how long)??
Hi love, I'd look into nursing schools offering a BSN degree that fits within your budget and then go from there! Set goals that are measurable and achievable so you're not overwhelmed with the long-term plan :)
Andrea there are accelerated BSN programs that are 12-18 months full time. I'm hoping to do this to then go NP. It's a full time program and since you have a bachelor's it's a great option. One school I'm looking at is ETSU.
Glenda Hernandez Hi Glenda, that sounds great! The only thing is I work full time- so I’m trying to figure out a way to do both... do you have any suggestions?
@@prettybebe003 I guess its case dependent. Check if there are schools that offer part time BSN programs (longer). But clinicals will be full days. If you can, consider part time work? I am also looking at scholarships that cover the entire cost of school plus a stipend and you dedicate 1-2 years back to them (ex. VA).
Thank you love! It's hard to study for this field prior to any hands on experience so I highly recommend shadowing someone first before investing into any specific educational material or courses. However, studying facial anatomy is always a great place to start when you're ready!
Owning your own med spa in California are you required to have a collaborative physician? If so what kind of collaboration to you have with your physician?
CatherineElise Estheticians provide facials love, not cosmetic injectables. You must be a nurse at the very minimum to perform these types of procedures 😘
great question! I personally wanted a terminal degree, one that I did not need to go back to school later in life for. DNP is the highest degree you can achieve in the field of nursing
@@beautyboostmedspa Can you be your own medical director having your doctorate? I will be finishing my masters in FNP in 4 months, but was told that if I got my doctorate I can be my own medical director. Is that false?
Dagmara Furgal hi love! The state of California requires all medical spas to have a physician (MD or DO) as a medical director regardless if you have a DNP or not. This can also be found on the BRN. Hope that helps and good luck love!!
Hi Anisa, I am FNP. I am interested on cosmetic. i have been watching all video. what will be right way to get into Aesthetic? do you need physician supervision to own med-spa? any advice will be appreciated. thanks for your video.
Hi Basanta! It is state-dependent on whether or not you need physician supervision as an FNP. I would google this information and go from there! Good luck love!
Rose Xavier nursing school and NP programs are very competitive to get into so I’m not sure why you felt the need to leave such a belittling comment? It flatters me that you took the time to watch my video because clearly you admire my career but if you have not pursued anything in nursing, then your comment holds no value of it being “not that hard” =\
omg ive been looking for a video like this!! I'm currently in college and I really want to be an aesthetic nurse but I want to open my own medspa. can you make a video on how you opened your business? I'm only 19 so I got a long way to go but its my dream!!
Samantha Jumanne I’d love to spell it out but opening and running your own business is something you can make your own and there’s really no guidelines for it! You will figure it out when the time comes 😊 Good luck on your journey! 💗
CatherineElise please stop advising people of illegal practices! I don’t know what doctor is allowing you to do these procedures in which state but it’s definitely out of your scope of practice and in California, you can be arrested! Please educate yourself more before offering advice 😘
Youngest 26 yr old to get a DNP you go girl!! You are my motivation!

Does your physician who you partnered with have any take in the profits you make in your medical spa? Or is it just an overseer?
Here from your Instagram, love your work!
Thank you for your love & support!
Are you open to taking interns at your medical spa?
all_about_cha not at this time but maybe in the future! :)
Owning your own med spa in California are you required to have a collaborative physician? If so what kind of collaboration to you have with your physician?
I’m a new grad Rn. Do you have any advice for getting into cosmetic nursing
NurseBritbrat08 take injectable classes and find a mentor who is willing to train you! :))
Anisa Munshi thank you so much!! :-)
Get your esthetician’s license. That’s it.
CatherineElise Estheticians provide facials love, not cosmetic injectables. You must be a nurse at the very minimum to perform these types of procedures 😘
Thank you so much for the information:) I have a question I’m just starting my career and I was wondering why you decide to go for DNP ?
great question! I personally wanted a terminal degree, one that I did not need to go back to school later in life for. DNP is the highest degree you can achieve in the field of nursing
how much years it took you to finish your studies
Can you ha e your own practice as a DNP, or do you still have to work under a physician in CA?
Brandy Summers you can be owner of a med spa but California requires a physician to be a medical director :)
@@beautyboostmedspa thanks! So happy you are making videos! Can't wait for more to watch as I go through nursing school!

It depends on your state!
Do RN’s work under you? If so, what do they do to assist you at your practice?
We don’t have RNs here 😊💖
Thank you for this!
Ofc love 🥰💕
Can you become a aesthetic np with an acute care dnp degree with the aesthetic certification?

Thank you for sharing 💜👩🏻⚕️💉
what kind of a learner are you? visual, auditory, or kinesthetic ?
oo good question! I'd say visual! what about you?
❤️❤️❤️
Kari Vids ❤️
I need this...
We hope it helped 🥰💗
I was 23 to be an MD
man nam that’s awesome! I was referring to being the youngest as a DNP, not MD 😘
Really!!! all of my nursing friends got into NP program. This is not med school, not that hard.
❤️
That's Great
Thank you 😊
So you don’t need to be certified cosmetic nurse. CAAS I think it’s called!
You need to be an RN, NP, PA, MD, or DO in the state of California. But states vary so be sure to check the laws in your particular state 🤗💗
Extracircular? How about extra curricular?
oops! hehe got tongue-tied talking so fast :)
omg ive been looking for a video like this!!
Samantha Jumanne get your esthetician’s license no need for a four year college
CatherineElise please stop advising people of illegal practices! I don’t know what doctor is allowing you to do these procedures in which state but it’s definitely out of your scope of practice and in California, you can be arrested! Please educate yourself more before offering advice 😘
Wow 26??? Did you ever practice as a nurse??
