For me, one of the most frequent reason for missing easy shots is not focusing on the execution and instead thinking of position. Many greetings from Belgium!
Great advice on keeping the same technique on EVERY shot. This is especially important in allowing your brain to find a consistent eye rhythm between cueball and object ball during your feathers making it more automatic and reduces the chances of taking your eye off the pot.👍
I have taken more from this video than perhaps any of your others. Very nice! sometimes all it can take is that one thing to change your perspective. This was mine. Thankyou
Spot on. I've only been playing snooker for a few years, but 'pool' more than 20 years. It's sometimes still a stumbling block for me. Love the game(s) too much to let it slow me down, though! Hope you're well and able to practice tons!
I just realised this last week. It's like something in mind that's making me add the side. I keep thinking that my aim is wrong even if it's right. Solution : your video.
I've been following this channel from the start. As a beginner, I learnt much of the basics of snooker from here. Kashif Fareed from Lahore, Pakistan. It's like an academy for me. I come here to catch up on what's amiss from my game and of course, to watch those vids where you recreate top shots.
It’s confidence for me, sometimes I get doubt in my mind about potting a ball and I miss, my technique isn’t great and have been told I move on the shot, but I do have a set routine and it does help
Just discovered your channel..right now I can make a couple of brilliant shots and then miss a "sitter" ..gonna study your videos tyvm..joe from bobcaygeon canada
Hey brother im a huge fan of you and i like ur content a lot i also thing that ur the greater youtuber who makes this type of content so much informations so much to learn , i'd like to be the first fan from morocco, casablanca.
I must admit that at 1:37 I was really hoping that the black was going to go into the other pocket. Would've been hilarious! Great vid though! Lots of good tips!
Pretty good video mate ,I generally miss when I’m playing well when I’ve got a break over 70 ,reds start disappearing ,leaves less options .Think I’m going to go back to playing with four reds on the table and trying to clear from there again This games frustrating ,knocked in 102 in practice within 5 minutes last week ,then couldn’t even make a 30 .Ohh by the way don’t take any notice of that Colin Colostomy bloke on here that thinks you know nothing about side spin ,he’s just a troll that appears on various snooker forums ,by the sounds of it he plays that easy bucket pocket yank 9 ball game ,he probably doesn’t even know that snooker tables have a nap .
I just bought my own snooker table, and although I use to be decent as a teenager(I'm now 48) my eyes suck now and so does my game...I find it very difficult playing while wearing glasses! Your videos are helping on some things but do you have any advise for players that wear glasses? The problem is getting low enough to look down the cue...it makes the lenses go into an odd angle and blurs everything. Any advise would be greatly appreciated as I feel I have tried just about everything!
Speak to your Optometrist about getting a set of specs made similar to what Dennis Taylor uses. Not all Optometrists make them but they should be able to refer you to someone who can. Or, simply start calling all of the Optometrists in your area :)
John Pullman wrote in his book 'tackle snooker' that one of the main differences between professionals and amateurs is not that the pros pot every ball, but they know what went wrong and why and how to rectify it.
I’m a beginner and want to learn how to century break. I recognise it will take years to learn and I’m situated in Essex. Are there any routines and Essex based clubs you recommend for me
Hi from Highlands of Scotland. Just a thought... I often wonder if explaining some of the more difficult shots would be better explained using a supper slow-mo camera, especially when dealing with the effects of side spin etc. Anyway, in response to jimmy whites comment below, are there any way around the issues of glasses when the trusty old eyesight starts to fade? Great vids btw! Do you ever coach players in clubs? Graham.
Along the lines of aiming = bridge placement. BFL is almost there in understanding that. Like most, they presume their bridge placement is perfect and cueing is the main variable. They are wrong most of the time.
Hi, do you play in any tournaments? I'd be really interested in seeing a video of a match being played from your perspective, also recently subscribe great channel and content. i live in Dover, UK, and there aren't many clubs to play at so your videos really help.
Hamilton v Lawler in the background, you're a proper snooker fan! Was a bit of a comedy of errors though - Anthony's eyes are gone, Rod's cue arm shakes violently on every shot these days...
@@Breakfromlife Yeah, Hamilton took the third with some decent tactical stuff but to be honest Lawler threw it away - literally, his arm was all over the place all day long on pressure balls. There's something macabre about watching two gnarled old players, who've both had really good careers and earned a good living from the game (a fantastic living in Anthony's case), scrapping for a grand in a best-of-4. Having said that...well, no, I probably would watch a best of 9 between these two actually. I like all that stuff, I like seeing how much it still means to them. Either that or I'm just a masochist...
i consider myself a really good player, i play flawlessly when im close to the balls but for some reason i see myself very poor on long pots, i miss very easy pots and i find myself most of the times allowing side spin and thats the main reason of me missing them, should I try a new technique or just stick with my regular routine and eventually it will solve itself?
Here's a challenge for BFL. Do a video on what "Line up the Shot" actually means. If you do it well, you'll realize it's bridge positioning. Something you've avoided discussion upon for years. Hence why you are so wrong about so many things.
Glad to see BFL thinking about how side and swiping plays a huge role. He still hasn't worked out the effect of bridge length on this issue. For example, if he'd tried that swiping with left (outside english) with a shorter bridge lenght, he could have made those shots, instead of hitting it thick. One day he may understand the concepts of pivot point, effective pivot point and squerve.
For me, one of the most frequent reason for missing easy shots is not focusing on the execution and instead thinking of position. Many greetings from Belgium!
Forever remaining the best Snooker channel on TH-cam, much thanks as always

Spot on

Understanding and predicting how side-spin deflects the cueball path is the most difficult part of the game.
Spot on. I've only been playing snooker for a few years, but 'pool' more than 20 years. It's sometimes still a stumbling block for me. Love the game(s) too much to let it slow me down, though! Hope you're well and able to practice tons!
Never a truer word spoken 😅
this is exactly the thing i've been struggling with lately as i've been trying to better control a table. like absolutely spot on, thank you for this!

0:25 if that’s an intentional plant off the white that is a ridiculous shot 🔥
It was supposed to get out the way entirely. I think I got it twice when the white blocked the pocket so I’m taking it
@@Breakfromlife quality shot and video mate, your content has improved my game a lot 🤝
I must admit that at 1:37 I was really hoping that the black was going to go into the other pocket. Would've been hilarious! Great vid though! Lots of good tips!

I thought about it then looked at the price of slow motion cameras. But will look what I can do with relatively slow stuff
@@Breakfromlife looking forward to that 👍thank you 😊

I'd love to see a video on the most unusual/unknown snooker rules (with example games if possible) 😀

What cue do you use?
Hamilton v Lawler in the background, you're a proper snooker fan! Was a bit of a comedy of errors though - Anthony's eyes are gone, Rod's cue arm shakes violently on every shot these days...
Was that 2-2 in the end? I think I just had that on for some final shots, was editing the video that day so I don’t think I saw much of it

Obsession over "147" is also the main reason of why snooker players, especially new ones, can miss shots easily. Speaking from Sabah, Malaysia!
Hey from Pakistan Rawalpindi
you should do punishment snooker i’m watching from guernsey in the channel islands
do what now?

Snooker isn’t really popular here, from Manila, Philippines
Most good players miss easy shots because they're too concerned with the positional side of a shot.
I didn't realise that there were easy shots in snooker...
all the shots cant be same, because some shots need some "special technics"
Glad to see BFL thinking about how side and swiping plays a huge role. He still hasn't worked out the effect of bridge length on this issue. You miss easy shots on a snooker table because THEIR ARE NO EASY SHOTS ON A SNOOKER TABLE.
Why are you not playing international if you know all this things
No one cues the centre of the white all the session...nearly impossible
Probably Davis was best?
But more than 1 way to catch a fish!!
