    Great looking cut away locks. I love the way you clearly demonstrate your videos : )
    Just to add: Long key pin, long driver pin and long spring not always a good idea and doesn't always work.

    I just ran into this tonight and never thought about the springs. Making a challenge lock from a found plug. Thank you

    This is probably a dumb question...but I’ve been trying to learn “Top of the Keyway” tension. Why am I able to pick a lock one day, and have trouble with the same lock the next day? Is it just a Practice makes perfect situation?

      It is normal and there is no really great reason for it. But one thing you want to do is try not to pick the same lock twice in one day because you do not want to create muscle memory picking it open.

    At the 3:40 mark, what does that single driver pen do? Are driver pins always first or last? Can it be in the middle location?

    Clearly demonstrating, hopefully the "obvious" -- there are spring-less locks, like the ASSA Desmo comes to mind

      This was aimed at common pin tumbler locks...

    Would stronger springs make picking easier or harder than just adequate ones?

    • @HelpfulLockPicker
      @HelpfulLockPicker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really strong pins and locks with good tolerances can make the pins hard to set. It is a balancing act
