I've spent several months recovering from some injuries and surgery, and that's meant a lot of time awake at night. Your voice and these stories have become my go-to balm; sometimes they see me off rapidly and more often they fill several hours of darkness for me! Thank you.
What an absolute treat! Thank you so much Greg, this will be the perfect companion to (a) my crafting and (b) my insomnia! Your narrations are without parallel and repeated listenings do not dull the sheer joy of hearing them. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this Greg. The consolidation of your works is truly a remarkable legacy. I cannot wait to share all of this with my children, in a way that they will be willing to hear. You have brought the true power of Story back to the modern world with this series. Well done sir.
I’m sure Dominic Cumberpatch is not too bothered about your comments, he is a talented ,globally admired actor ⭐️ Greg Wagland as a narrator is perfect for Sherlock Holmes. I’m sure he doesn’t want to be compared to D C in any way. I wish him well…
Hi Greg hope you are well. My grandad used to tell me stories from Sherlock Holmes when I was a child. I read the books in my 20's and then found your channel all by luck when you started all those years ago now. As I've said before to you, you are my definitive Holmes and Watson and will forever be the voice I can hear in my head when I reread a case. Have you ever thought of doing the Dorothy Sayers, Lord Peter Wimsey collection?
Now this wasn't expected at this hour! Thank you Greg! A nights worth of you voicing the Holmes cases! How exciting! Also nice Foto! No Photoshop to be seen ^^
Quite regularly I find myself using Greg's soothing British baritone for my own internal monologue. I'm suprised the BBC haven't rung you up yet to do World Service news hour or something. Yours is a voice for broadcast if there ever were one!
Appriciate the compilation. Just as you suggested, it's nice not to have to hunt down the individual stories. Now able to binge the whole work. Thank you..
Been acquainted with Mr. Greg (via his channel) since 2019. Continues to be a pleasure. Not sure if you have an audience for it but I would love to listen to more recordings with your amusing digressions.
This is without question the very best reading of Sherlock Holmes I’ve ever heard!🥰 no one compares, not Cumberbatch(one of my favorite actors) or Stephen Frye. Thank you, thank you! I’m forever in your debt.
I have long enjoyed relaxing to your postings. I may have commented before..not sure. But I have definitely thumbs up several comments praising your wonderful talent. Both for voice work and sleep aid. Thank you so much for all your much appreciated work. ❤
Greg, I've been busy. Finally time to listen again as a set. Thank you for the mental break, and recharge. These are a home, beside the wood stove, on a cold winter night, with a favorite book... a rare comfort. Mahe Ohna ✌️ Favour, Greg and ALL
So glad to see that you're back among the living! I hope you've been okay. I always get a little worried when you go silent. Of course, that never really happens since we have a good supply of reruns. Welcome home, though!
i love all your work Greg, I was first introduced to your excellent narration with your recording of Treasure Island…my request is, should you enjoy it, can you read more Robert Louis Stevenson??? My favorites would be The Black Arrow and Kidnapped…cheers!
It's a pleasure listening to these stories, Mr wagland is a very talented reader , it's good to hear that Dr Watson is portrayed as a good friend and a intelligent man , better than the films that portray him as a bit of a bungling idiot, great work Mr wagland
Greg i love your readings, and don't mean this angrily in any way (it's so hard to convey these things through text) but I'm just wondering if you would be open to the idea of removing the part about photoshop in the thumbnail, considering the news about the Princess of Wales diagnosis? I appreciate you would have made it before the news broke, but it does feel rather uncomfortable. Thanks for taking the time to read this :)
Hi Katyb. I understand your point and I'm sorry it's made you feel uncomfortable. My intention was to refer light heartedly to my actual physical presence in Baker Street on that day without any recourse to digital manipulation of the image. Photoshop, and it's younger, bigger sibling AI, have been much in the news recently but not exclusively in reference to the media's coverage of the Princess of Wales. I hope she continues to do well in her recovery and that hope extends of course to anyone suffering from cancer, young or old, to those with expert, dedicated medical teams and those without.
@@sherlock_holmes_magpie_audio oh I am sorry Greg, I do apologise. It never occurred to me it may not refer to the headlines with the Princess of Wales. Thanks for taking the time to reply and explain 🙂 maybe I've been watching too much of the news lately 🙈
I went there back in the 1990’s on a trip to London, it was interesting and fun to see and well worth a trip for any Holmes fan, but IMHO the very best recreation of the interior sitting room of 221B is one in Reading Pennsylvania created by Denny Dobry which can be found on a link at Sherlockiandotnet under a section called ‘About Sherlock Holmes’ that covers Holmes’s address under the link called ‘A spectacular re-creation in Reading, Pennsylvania’ I would send you a link to it Greg but TH-cam pretty much blocks all links these days. Anyways if you search for it you’ll find it over there and the detail on Dobry’s recreation of 221B is just incredible and well worth checking out.
I always think of the author's name as "Sir Arthur Conan Doyle," however Mr. Wagland never refers to him this way. I suspect there is a good reason of which I am ignorant...anyone know what it might be?
This is ever so much sped up. Unfortunately, this ruins the relaxation for sleep that I am used to listening to in your recordings. A pity. Please fix? Break into two long recordings, if need be. Thank you

Best Sherlock Holmes reader on TH-cam, hands down. :3
Thank you Rietto.
He's not a reader! HES A THESPIAN!!
Totally agree. If it's not Greg it's of no interest to me
This will prove to be my go-to binge for many years to come! Thank you, Greg!

Ahhhhhhhh such a fine set of readings. Sit back, Cumberbatch!!! Let our man Wagland do his best work.

I too agree!
