Simply put, the Indifference wants the Operator, because that's the version of the Tenno that actually interests it. It doesn't care about the Drifter- why would it? It left them for dead on the Zariman after "saving" everyone else on board, remember? So the Drifter can come and go through time without issue. But if the _Operator_ tried to do it? That'd be giving it what it wants on a silver platter, and that can't be good for anyone!

Drifter was always the paradox ever since he was introduced but yea, the new storyline arc is about the drifter instead of operator
