    thank you for your vedio sir,
    but I have a doubt..
    "when a body is subjected to 2 equal and opposite pulls,as a result of which the body tends to extend it's length, the stress and strain induced is known as tensile stress and tensile strain"
    is this a wrong statement then..?!

    • @VGacademyCivilengineering
      @VGacademyCivilengineering  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      wrong. you are seeing it outside. to generate stress one force is also sufficient. it will come from inside. we apply force from outside. but stress generate inside. such minute things will help to get clarity in concept

      yeah even I thought so after watching your vedio.
      but that was a sentence from R S khurmi book.
      and even in indiabix.com website they have mentioned it true..
      so got confused

      because mostly we study about static bodies. to make things simple stress is defined from outside in some books. but that will create confusion when you enter structural analysis. so I changed it completely to have a smooth transition to analysis

    Good Day sir!.... Night time class ..I'm so surprised to watch this lectures... I'm cleared about the topic u teached ...thn in case of longitudinal section and cross section... What about the square shaped body... to identify both the section... sir

    Sir, upper/lower yield points means getting cracks (or) just decreasing the crossection of the mildsteel rod

    • @VGacademyCivilengineering
      @VGacademyCivilengineering  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      we get crack at yield point. we can hear a crack sound also at yield point. in upper yield point platic behaviour starts and after lower yield point complete plastic zone starts followed by strain hardnening and breaking

    sir as u told stress will be opposite to force.than in bending example should not the moment act in upward direction..because it is bending downward

    Sir, But in plastic analysis top fiber of beam is crossed beyond the yield limit then why their are no cracks in that beam till upto plastic limit
