I love monthly or seasonal rack videos, because they always give me ideas of polishes I should wear as well. Also, I saw an interesting tip about wearing a polish without a topcoat to keep the effect. Someone in one of the Facebook groups I follow mentioned putting on the topcoat, letting that dry, and then painting a coat of the polish over it. That way you don’t have to wait forever for all the layers of the polish to dry without a quick dry topcoat.

I liked this video a lot and I think the ‘theme’ of polishes you don’t usually reach for but don’t want to declutter is a great one. I have polishes like this that I try to keep out where I see them frequently to inside me to use them. Interestingly, I’ve actually ended up really loving a few of them! I think your “what I wore” videos are great too, and I like the idea of having them separate. I usually pick too many to get through for my monthly rack and don’t get through them all, so I’d like to see how other people end up using theirs as well.

I LOVE wearing Double Dare and Zyler the Cat, I hope you enjoy them as well :) I have to say all the reds looked gorgeous. My other favs based on what I could see was the green Cadillaquer, the Rugged Beauty dark blue, Have You Seen A Moomaid By the Sea, Fancy Gloss Disco Night and the Girly Bits polish

I like this format, it's fun to see the polishes and hear you talk through the reasons you avoided them. You're super brave, a whole month of something that you usually avoid is a big undertaking! Maybe you'll wear some of them and take breaks and wear other stuff too. Good luck! Can't wait to hear how it went for you!

I don't know if you need removal tips you probably already know but if you just put a cotton pad with acetone on your finger and hold it there for a bit it basically sticks to your nail on its own. That way you don't even need the clips, then wait for 30 seconds to a minute and when you pull it off most of the polish will have melted away and stick to the cotton. That's how I do it!

I just wore Essie Penny Talk last week and fell in love with it all over again. It’s also great for stamping 😉. Great choices! if you don’t care for clips on your nails you could try applying cuticle oil first and then remove the polish. You can apply the soaked cotton without the clips just let the soaked cotton sit on your nails. Hope that helps 😊

Watching this as I remove my dark red polish haphazardly. Can’t stop, won’t stop. I will use those little acetone pots for textured stuff but either way there’s no “sit and wait” - I will be scrubbing.
I loved watching as usual.
I suggest you mix in there some more that you love- it’s good to wear things and get through it, but doing only those on a rack is difficult 🤗

You should do this theme every year! Maybe make it your july rack (thought cause July ppu is always rewind, so thought it’d be fun to wear all the polishes you’re meh about, and then you’ll be extra excited for when your ppu order arrives and you get to wear all the polishes you actually want to wear lol

If you store your polishes by brand, how do you pick what you pull for your rack? I found it easier to pull polishes once I reorganized by color. I like to find out people’s thought process & how it works for them.
You should have a display shelf for your polishes that are inspired by art - with little spot lights 😂 then you are still appreciating without needing to wear

Random ramblings…
I employ some specialized base coats to allow me the freedom to enjoy my polishes. I love Starrily’s stain guardian and UNT’s peel off base coat. Bring on the stainers and the chunky glitters! I soak off polishes, but am too lazy for the clips, which I do own. 😬 I just load up some acetone and let it sit while I watch a little video.
I love to buy crellies, because they are so cute, but I am less inclined to wear them. I think I am more likely to wear a crelly with color in the base, like pink or blue. I’ve found a few oranges that work for me, and I’m good on orange. Like I have my orange polish covered for life. Although, I’ve really enjoyed oranges this year. Dreamland makes complimentary oranges for my pinky-red undertones. I don’t really wear much dark and vampy colors, I hate when they wear or chip!

I love to do a mani of the same color family, but all different polishes to try out if I love, like or need to destash a polish.

I enjoyed this format. I tried to do a seasonal rack once then realized how much work I was creating for myself having to put the unworn polishes back in the drawer. 😂 I also love a white crelly but don’t seem to wear them all that often. 🤔

I don’t know if it is always true but I had some staining from red and I wore a dark teal after. When I removed the teal, it basically cancelled out the red and also didn’t leave much of the teal stain then

I like seeing what you chose and why, especially given the theme of the rack. It will be fun to see what you actually wore and how you liked the different polishes.
I like this idea but for me it takes a different spin. I don’t really have polishes that I am resistant to wear, but I do have some that I haven’t worn in a long time, so I will sometimes force myself to wear one that I may not be in the mood to wear to make sure that they all get some attention, if that makes sense.
I second the comment about just laying the soaked cotton on your nails, no clips required, if it's the pinching/pressure that bothers you ❤ Loved this style video 😊

Use a Peely base for glitters, is so easy to take off, it just pops. I don't put it all the way in my nail just in the middle so it can last longer :)
Edit: I saw the rest of the video, and you said you don't like wearing Peely base 😅😅
I’m the same way about white glitter crellies. I love the look of them in the bottle but don’t actually wear them. White is easily the smallest category in my stash.

I'm sad to hear the repeated frustration with removing glitter, when you have such pretty glitter polishes. tbh when I discovered the soak-off method with little plastic nail clamps and ripped up cotton balls and pure acetone, it was a game changer for me. So easy now. Just apply it, sit for a couple minutes, then woosh, swoop it right down the nail in one motion and minimal mess. I hope you try to make it easier on yourself as you experiment wearing and removing these. Different Dimension Hello from the Other Tide looks like an impressive rainbow!! And I like all those white glitter crelly polishes too. I recently got interested in that kind of formula, birthday cakes and sugary breakfast cereal vibes lol very fun 💅
I've worn a few glitter polishes this month and started to realize I built it up in my head as a bigger issue than it is! That's why I like challenging myself to do things I typically avoid because I start to realize my perception has skewed!

Zoya has a satin top coat. I haven’t tried it but maybe it’s specifically made for their satin polishes?
It's made for their "naked manicure" polishes but it works fine over any brand of polish :) it's a very nice texture between matte and glossy
Maybe you need a new base coat if the polish is staining your nails
