The Kyoto station looks different than the one I remember (smaller) from my memorable trip in 2017. Arrived from Tokyo in Shinkansen. Thank you for the walking tour. Would love to be back in Kyoto in spring in the near future.
There are two station buildings in Kyoto. The station building shown in this video is for JR train line entrance, not for Shinkansen line. The JR station building was rebuilt in 1997. Shinkansen line entrance is on the opposite side.

Kyoto is alway a special place but it's even more special in the cherry blossom season. I didn't know it was so beautiful until I visited this time and I'd definitely like to visit again next year too!!! 🌸
Westerners take note, even with this very populace city with a kazillion walk up eateries, there is not one bit of litter anywhere. The Japanese people are meticulously clean and clutter free. They would never impinge upon another’s tranquility by despoiling the environment. I’m very happy to also see that there is a great deal of the traditional Japanese wardrobe still preserved in Japan.

Just for info, there are about 800 shrines and 1,700 temples in the city of Kyoto. I have been to Kyoto several times, and the number of the shrines and temples I saw is around 2~3% of them.
