LOL the 70's were so cheesy! The belligerent old man rough and tuff criminal landscaping imposter crew trying to outrun in a landscape truck . You gota love it .
Wildchd1, The 70s were not cheesy. Your thinking is very off. If you get caught by the cops, after just committing a crime, your gonna try to escape in whatever you can. Doesn't matter what it is. Apparently, you have some weird hang up about 1970s entertainment, but yet here you are. Not to mention, some tv networks call themselves trying to remake some of these shows.
My first friend in the United States in the second grade was a little blond boy named Rony. We used to ride around the play yard during recess in make-believe pretending to be Chips. He was John, I was Ponch. 7 Mary 3, we have a suspect on the 10. Had no idea what the "ten" was until I moved to So Cal as an adult.
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
"Mary 3, 10-4. Attention all units, 7 Mary 3 and Mary 4 are in pursuit, possible 487 suspects, southbound Hollywood Freeway and Sunset, vehicle is a Caltrans truck. These are possibly the Green Thumb Burglars."
Those green thumbed bastards honestly had the nerve to try and outrun police officers on motorcycles in a dump truck. Serves them right running into an unoccupied playground.
The drive-in movie theater reminded me of the one where a scene from Knight Rider was filmed several years later. It could be the same one, since both shows were filmed in the same area.
I grew up in Southern CA near Glendale and LA Crescenta..........it is rare that I can not identify where these were filmed. Many on the 2 FWY before it was actually open to the public. The Drive-In Movie Theater they race through was the PICKWICK DRIVE IN also used in the movies Blue Thunder and Heat. I saw JAWS there in its last two weeks in theaters. Also saw Dawn of the Dead there too! Great Memories!!!
CONTINUITY GOOF ALERT: The truck starts this video with cones on both front posts. Many times later in this video (e.g., 3:08, 3:31, 3:42), the truck is carrying cones on only one of its two front posts, yet from 3:52 to the end, the truck has cones on both posts again. I can understand cones getting tossed off when the truck hits a big bump at speed, but how does the truck pick those cones back up without the truck stopping? 🤔
In order to raise that bed of that truck you need a “power take off” (PTO) to hydraulically raise the bed via the clutch and a lever inside the cab...unless I’m wrong doing this while driving would tear the transmission right up especially at the speeds they were traveling in the video. I realize this is Hollywood and tv shows are for enjoyment, but, really?
I miss you Chips
Totally enjoy Watching Chip 's.
How many of you just love to see every single episode of CHiP's without fail just like me?
If you are one, then can you please be humble and give me thumbs? ©®
I would highly appreciate it very much.
Please do keep inside during this quarentine as much as possible. ©®

Dang! I remember these Cats filming nearby Magic Mountain in 1979. Hardly any traffic back then.
I bet that was awesome
0::15 Anyone else love Ponch's stern chase expression. You see it whenever they're in pursuit.

Nothing gets past Sgt. Getraer- Ponch and Jon know when their C.O. takes the lead in a vehicle chase, he's in command and they follow his lead!!!
Okay.
Those trees and shrubs must be rare and valuable enough to have plant thieves.
Those damn actors

Have loved those soundtracks in the background some of the best songs in films.
Alan silvestri did a majority of the music for the show.

For 2 episodes of season 1, Mike Post and Pete Carpenter handled the music score on CHiPs!!!

That’s Caltrans, not a landscaper..
I love 💕 chips and I miss it
Love that mustang they went around
I miss the 405 being that sparse of vehicles on the road 😂
You can't outrun the funky bass line.

No seatbelts were injured in the making of this episode.
That’s because this truck is a 1973 and seat belts we’re not required then, but it did have lap belts.
This was before seatbelt laws requiring people to wear them.
I can asure you all that there is a great chance that caltrans truck is still in service lol.

How many people have good memories with old girlfriend at the Drive in movie theater!?!
A buddy of mine’s dad ran The Drive in off base. He said the speakers in the back three rows didn’t work, but those three rows were always full.

Why are these crooks wearing hardhats inside the truck?
They were impersonating state workers, but were stealing trees along the interstate.
Where were the patrol cars to block the exit?
no cgi used in this chase
They Should have called them the California Highway Interstate Patrol .
Those in the truck better stop it. Sgt Getraer could get his son to use phasers from the Enterprise star ship.
Is that Pauly Walnuts?
No way in Hell. That guy was smart unlike him.
