Great video , a chap I know made the change from john deere to a T7 and he is very impressed , has had no issues only a couple of minor ones and plenty of power and comfort ! He wont be going back to JD again after quite a few issues with them and the poor service from the dealer !

My main thought on that T7 is that with a front loader it's too damned big to go round your sheds and gates. A bale on its forks is going to literally be your entire MX's length away from the steering wheel. Shame about the timing tho, you could have driven around a bit to mow with your little clipper on the 7 - started a rumor about being new rich.
Id still say the smaller t6 175/180 would suit you more than the larger t7 swb. they use to be 6 pot but the new stage 5 up to 175 are 4 pots and the 180 is a 6 pot! still plenty of hp. the t6 175 is 140hp boost to 175 and the 180 is 150hp boost to 180hp. the T6 i think is a bit Lower on the cab too better for barns and if needs be a front loader work. The newer tractors have better buddy seats. Maybe encouraging Mrs P, daughters, or granddaughter to join you more while hauling or doing some field work. You might find some daughters willing to help drive the new machine on some jobs. Keep up the good work on the videos. Enjoying the content.
Lovely looking tractor abit big for your place though but they do say size matters these days haha the T5 would be a more nimble choice of a New Holland but keep shopping around and make your decision when you have seen them all.

Well if the man says use it…🤣🤪. I think the T5 will be a good job for you, only thing is with a decent weight off the back of it it might just nod. Ours does with 750kg of flail off it and 500ky on the front. Longer wheel base could be good. I’ll be interested to see what ever! Plus use it one the tree jobs 😁😁

Ian one thing you will find a longer wheelbase makes a smoother ride With a 50 km box your trailers would have to be on air braking suspension and commercial running gear
That blue 🚜 tractor looks like what I used and it drive beautiful on the roads and Tow no problem up and down hills and I did a lots hills with the big bat 🦇 wing as I cut grass a long the roads and Fields and yes it was small what the dealer brut to you it was the sides you used

look at the farmer he has so much fun. the ride was nice i think. the people where o look now that 's a propper tractor farmer p. what does mrs p think of the t7. did she took it for a spin ??? and the buddy seat is biskit happy with it ??? do think about the overlapping gears and the automatic.. that way your girls and their guys can just push the auto button and the brains off the tractor does the rest... and i hope for Abbi the horn is not so loud. and hopefully the farmer does not go for a airhorn system so he can play baby shark on the airhorns. or other songs. is all optional it is all possible . have fun.
The T7 is a big tractor, nice in all fairness. The T6 is a nice size tractor. I have a T5120, an electro command box, nice all round tractor and not too sore on diesel. That T5 with the cvt box would be nice but pricey in comparsion to electro command(power shift) box, lovely tractor, lovely tractor with the cvt. The T6 with an electro command box is probably near the price of a T5 with the cvt?????. Case or Newholland will be hard to beat price wise for spec and quality.
Malcolm started on tractors when I was 5 steering my dads fordE27 tractor with spade lug wheels while he lit his pipe in 1956 now I've used a tractor that steers itself and got computer screens in it give me an old super major any day all getting too smart and plasticky

The t5 is bigger than I thought so disregard my comment from your other video. Are you thinking of front PTO for the flail mower? It'll be interesting what deal you'd get and if an ex demo or an ex rental would stack up. Electro command is proven, been around since the nineties and the range command.
I think if i was being totally truthful, if we hadn't got all john deer on this farm apart from the class combine i do like new holand there so easy and simple to operate
Being a much big tractor and more power when you need, as well as lots more comfortable and should be economic to run as it's probably not going to work really hard. I go the T7 size if you can. I bet you could swing a good deal on it as well.
I still think you,d be sticking with your own tractor and put word out for a 6 wheeler wagon/tractor trailer contractor. Less stress, more time etc. Plenty of cheap flat beds about, can you or someone you know drive one (comfort). Maybe you can get exemptions or lower bills, NFU would advise. Anyway, good luck with the new shiny and it does burn holes in ones pockets.
My uncle ran a Bedford TK taking his market garden produce to Liverpool market after his local one closed down. He found a timber yard that gave away off cuts if loaded and carted at no cost to him. A neighbor farmer wanted in on the timber, but uncle had to refuse as the truck could only be used to collect and deliver his own goods. Don't know if it was the road tax, fuel or another reason for this.
Maybe take your class 2 test, buy a cheapish hi-ab craned 6/8 wheeler, could be tipper with greedy ally dropsides, get planning (asset) for a new (2nd hand) shed for all vehicle maintenance etc, build proper inspection pit; all easy cheap stuff compared to new tractor prices. You will find part-time/ semi retired driver; could take in other work. You have a good operating centre. Sure you could keep that wagon busy. Ok, just go and buy a shiny new tractor. Good luck.
Seems they are keen to get you the demos out and ik there aim is to sell you the tractor but it is a sign of good dealer support whichbis good for future
If there was a Deutz Fahr dealer close by you should look at one of those we have a 5120C Deutz and it’s a great tractor 120HP does everything we need from hay making to seeding and light cultivation they have newer one than our which is a 5125G and it’s also a nice tractor
Enjoying the look around not bothered whether you buy or don't but I think your reasons for purchase are sound and your Dad and Mrs P are on board. Interesting to hear all the talk about the new electronic gear boxes over the older ones, however will the new boxes still be working in 18 years? And how much maintenance will they need? I also guess that running costs as well as finance are going to be big factors. Would have thought that you should have given Marley a nice sharp Farmer P pencil so that he can come up with his best price.
Hi´ Ian. I think you should buy a tractor that´s a bit bigger with a bit more power than you need. Why, because you wan´t to keep it for many years, and I think you will be more happy with a bit bigger and more powerful tractor in the long run, and I know you will make it fit Bradley Farm. I hope it makes sence in your head, it makes sence in my mine.
Blue all the way Mr P 😁 Question tho - the issues you have when you want to go pick up bails, would you get the new T6 with front loader? That way you can collect bails by uself and not have to take over ur dads tractor, or the mustang.
If you went for 50kph and drove it at 40kph would your engine be running at lower revs and have better fuel consumption with the price of fuel could that be something to think about Ian 🤔
They've come on a lot since the Dexter (4 wheels not legs) I know of a Fiat in blue badged as a Ford on the sides and a New Holland on the front,the Case and New Holland will basically be the same just different colours and different prices there might be a bit of Fiat chucked in as well

Size doesn't matter when it comes to getting a good deal. But also if you're looking to do more land work for yourself/contract on and off the farm it's a careful balancing I don't envy you to make. Or just sell one of your daughters and get a JCB Fastrac
Buy all the horsepower you can afford. I'm partial to the Blue. Perhaps it's the dealer network. They seem odd in wanting the best for you. Especially when you need parts or service at a critical time. Just one man's opinion. Remember, in all brands, some of that added horsepower is consumed in a heavier machine to move and to spin those large tires.
I do wish Massey Ferguson would step up to the plate and showcase the new MF 6S of 7S, what I have seen so far from those are not bad at all. At least just so I can get a bit more opinions on them for my thoughts.
Keep in mind, one of the most important factors in a new tractor is Bizcuit's comfort.

He’s still got his skid steer for in the yard and the wee case loader tractor as well so wouldn’t really be a big deal if he got it with a loader
Buy a.Claas 450 with.cab and axil suspension with panoramic roof some job and super comfortable gears and loader controls on one joystick!

That T5 with practically a fully automatic box looks good plus plenty of tork for the road, really puts the T6 to shame.
As long as you have the power to maintain the 40kph on hills then I've found 40kph to be a comfortable speed.

There is a diesel exhaust fluid tank on the tractor too.

I used to run a pair of 7.5 tonne lorries, unless you are using them regularly it’s not worth all the O license rules and regulations.
Maybe take your class 2 test, buy a cheapish hi-ab craned 6/8 wheeler, could be tipper with greedy ally dropsides, get planning (asset) for a new (2nd hand) shed for all vehicle maintenance etc, build proper inspection pit; all easy cheap stuff compared to new tractor prices. You will find part-time/ semi retired driver; could take in other work. You have a good operating centre. Sure you could keep that wagon busy. Ok, just go and buy a shiny new tractor. Good luck.
If you want compact with decent power and comfort have a look at the Valtra N series
Seems they are keen to get you the demos out and ik there aim is to sell you the tractor but it is a sign of good dealer support whichbis good for future
After market support will be a key ingredient in any purchase 👍🏼
If there was a Deutz Fahr dealer close by you should look at one of those we have a 5120C Deutz and it’s a great tractor 120HP does everything we need from hay making to seeding and light cultivation they have newer one than our which is a 5125G and it’s also a nice tractor

Enjoying the look around not bothered whether you buy or don't but I think your reasons for purchase are sound and your Dad and Mrs P are on board. Interesting to hear all the talk about the new electronic gear boxes over the older ones, however will the new boxes still be working in 18 years? And how much maintenance will they need? I also guess that running costs as well as finance are going to be big factors. Would have thought that you should have given Marley a nice sharp Farmer P pencil so that he can come up with his best price.

Hi´ Ian. I think you should buy a tractor that´s a bit bigger with a bit more power than you need. Why, because you wan´t to keep it for many years, and I think you will be more happy with a bit bigger and more powerful tractor in the long run, and I know you will make it fit Bradley Farm. I hope it makes sence in your head, it makes sence in my mine.

Question tho - the issues you have when you want to go pick up bails, would you get the new T6 with front loader?
That way you can collect bails by uself and not have to take over ur dads tractor, or the mustang.
If you went for 50kph and drove it at 40kph would your engine be running at lower revs and have better fuel consumption with the price of fuel could that be something to think about Ian 🤔
Pay that extra money for more speed and not use it would only be a waste for that little bit of diesel you’d save

They've come on a lot since the Dexter (4 wheels not legs) I know of a Fiat in blue badged as a Ford on the sides and a New Holland on the front,the Case and New Holland will basically be the same just different colours and different prices there might be a bit of Fiat chucked in as well

Size doesn't matter when it comes to getting a good deal. But also if you're looking to do more land work for yourself/contract on and off the farm it's a careful balancing I don't envy you to make. Or just sell one of your daughters and get a JCB Fastrac
Buy all the horsepower you can afford. I'm partial to the Blue. Perhaps it's the dealer network. They seem odd in wanting the best for you. Especially when you need parts or service at a critical time. Just one man's opinion. Remember, in all brands, some of that added horsepower is consumed in a heavier machine to move and to spin those large tires.

I do wish Massey Ferguson would step up to the plate and showcase the new MF 6S of 7S, what I have seen so far from those are not bad at all. At least just so I can get a bit more opinions on them for my thoughts.
