Great to see it has been faithfully reproduced and expanded upon. Line6 for the win. If only more companies did stuff like this.
Line 6, please publish more detail user guides for this pedal. I love it but some quick vids on how to loop, effects, etc to make it usable faster. Excellent design and very versatile, thank you for the upgrade to this classic.
This would be an unbeatable no brainer upgrade If it had a loop quantize feature so your looper button presses could be quantized to incoming midi clock.
Bought an MKii as a 3rd and while it’s everything and more, it does not do one thing that the original does (unless I’ve overlooked it). The loops don’t decay. It was a great way to transition from one song to another. I’ve got a Ditto 4x that can do that, tho, so I can still do it, but if I have only ONE suggestion, that is it: allow the loops to decay.

I'm curious about the chance to connect both expression pedal and single footswitch through a TRS splitter cable. I'm using an EHX expression pedal (TRS) with my dl4 mkii and I wonder if it will still work with the splitter. Can't seem to find any info around about this setup...

I mean which reverb might be applied and what are the settings to make sight adjustments etc.. Also, is there a way of turning up the volume on a selected preset where it may be particularly quiet because of your mix setting?
I LOVED my DL4! I only got rid of it because it took up so much space, wasn't midi, didn't external tap tempo & you couldn't stack delay presets. If you could do a software update to add delay stacking, it would be a slam dunk perfect delay and I'd get rid of my Eventide H9 & EHX Canyon!!

HELP PLZ I’m using the looper setting and each time the loop repeats it is getting louder and louder until it is clipping and my speakers sound like they’re going to blow. How do I fix this? I’m running it in a triple rectifier I’m the FX Loop after a Small Clone, Keeley Dyna Trem and before a big sky reverb.
For the 1 switch looper, line 6 needs to update the firmware to fix the looper clear functionality. If it has a loop, you have to double click through to get to bright white. Once it’s bright white, you hold down. It starts playing a bit of the loop then clears. Light turns dim white meaning it’s reading to start a new recording. Not very user intuitive and the little bit of the loop starting only to clear it is bad workflow. I love it overall, just would love to have the one switch looper work better so you can get all the customized effects in the loop. That would give you a very good stereo delay, stereo reverb, and stereo looper post effects. Huge value in this pedal.
How to do get the standard delay time (not in looper mode) longer ? The longest i seem to be able to get it is like 2 or 3 it seems and thats weak ! I have cheap pedals that d 8 secs time. Im really hoping i’m missing something but the manual doesn’t seem to explain it other than hold “ hold alt / legacy button while turning time / subdivision but that doesn’t do anything different than just turning the time / subdivision by itself , still the same short delay times even turn all the way up . If thats all this thing can do ill return it , but i must be mistaken but the manual isn’t helping.
Is it possible to control the delay parameters with an expression pedal on this unit? I want to be able to change the time and feedback settings in real time while playing solos to get a wavering pitch shift sound similar to what Fredrik Thordendal does on his solo album Special Defects.
@@ryanshook8284 The old version didn’t have analog dry through. This meant your direct guitar sound would allways be transformed to digital bits and than put back together to audio. This slows down your sound by a few milliseconds making its use in an in-phase wet/dry setup impossible. It also causes a little loss of sound quality. With analog through, your direct sound is not digitalized and the digital effect (delay) is merged with the analog trough signal. Analog dry through is in my eyes much better. Also the old switches were very fragile many people who liked the sound replaced those but it required some good soldering skills and the indication leds had to be replaced as well. I guess line 6 must have improved that.

I really enjoyed the 1st version - was one of my first delays but ended up selling it after so many years due to the noticeable feeling of tone suck after upgrading my guitar amp. i couldn't tell with my previous setup, but once I upgraded...I was like whoa whats happening? Whats causing this? noticed a weird volume difference when the unit was on/off.

suoni incredibili peccato che passando da una memoria ad un'altra sia rimasto il problema del silenzio di latenza.... cosa che nel video non sembra essere descritta. quindi 16 suoni nuovi...unica pecca che andava riveduta e corretta è rimasta. almeno va a 9v e finalmente lo si può mettere in pedaliera con un supply multiplo ( a 500mA)
I have seen other demo videos on youtube and if I understand correctly when switching from one preset to another there is no way to leave the effects tail of the previous preset.No good
I will never buy anything from Line6 after I bought an intarface Gearbox Gold and after coming home I couldn't install on WIN7 because Line6 did not update ...... they just abandoned it ...........
Okay... So it's about 9.5 inches wide instead of the previous unit's ridiculous 10. Still no analog dry through and is probably as unreliable as the original.

Not all of them… It doesn’t have the Dynamic Hall, Dynamic Room, Dynamic Plate or the Shimmer.

Yes, apparently it has the upgraded foot switches from the Helix line.
A Line 6 rep on TGP said this has the same highly-tested footswitches used in the Pod Go.
My DL4 never failed. Still works great this day.
Been using it since 2004, thousands and thousands of gigs, regular session. Never had a problem with the foot switch tho.

What are the power requirements? The old DL4 had a huge power supply and wierd power requirements that most DC bricks don't cover.

Two comments: 1) it needs a display in this day and age, and 2) the aesthetic is ugly.

The legacy button will light up when the knob is back at its saved setting. You can now see exactly where the knob settings are.
