So with 2 Carriers (designed to carry 40 fighters, even though the U.K. owns approximately 12 at the moment), 2, ambitious warfare ships, 6 anti air destroyers (with 44 missile tubes, when the original Labour program called for a class of 12-14 with 72 missile tubes), 8 anti submarine frigates (due to be retired, abd with delays to replacements there are going to be years were the U.K. only has 3-4), 5 general purpose frigates, 7 attack submarines, and 4 nuclear missile submarines, that means that all the RN is capable of is a single carrier group (most of the year) with a quarter of the fighters, plus a few frigates and a single sub for other duties, and one missile sub for nuclear deterrence. It should have a fleet of smaller corvettes like the ones France and Italy are building to supplement their heavy units (and before brexit era sneer at those two nations, their ships use the exact sane tech as the UKs, and Italy supplies the U.K. with its anti air missiles) for the war they expect with Turkey in the next 10-15 years
Aster are actually Franco-Italian, the snag with the F35 numbers will be sorted as soon as enough pilots have been trained on them, no point in owning an aircraft if you haven't got the bod to fly it.
