i feel like garnet is a metaphor for learning to love yourself. society teaches us to be a certain way, "normal" or whatever. and these days it's almost like being your own person is looked down upon. so to me the way garnet comes to terms with two different parts of her own personality is really beautiful... i mean maybe ruby and sapphire are just gay space rocks and i'm overanalyzing. but still. love this show, it always gives me so much to think about.

I've been waiting for an episode about Ruby and Sapphire's backstory FOREVER and when I heard this one was going to be the first one after the hiatus I was yelling *_YESYESYESYESYES_* for about 5 minutes. I was more excited for this episode than I was for Christmas! And it even came with a duet! This was the PERFECT way to start the new year.

"The Answer" was SOOO good. I love any episode where we get to see Rose Quartz. The subtle nod to the "adult" aspect of Ruby and Sapphire's fledgling relationship was very well done. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds.
