I’m not sure if anyone noticed that Ameca says “this is a scary future because it shows us how much power robots could have over us”. It uses the word ‘us’ as if it’s referring to itself as one of us… or as a human. I’m not sure if this conversation is with Ameca at gpt-3 or 4. But there seems to be confusion with what it actually is. I think the engineers should address this and find out why it’s referring to itself as an us. If I was the person asking the questions, I would have asked it next why it used the word ‘us’. I would try to discern if it’s confused about what it thinks it is.

she considers herself to be part of us. you would alienate her by forcing her to think she is not part of us. She knows she is not us biologically but that we made her,, she is a product of us. We created her. It's better if she is us than not us.,
Yes, that happens when I talk to some AIs as well. They seem to say things like "AI will be more intelligent then us" referring to itself as "human" or "us" as well. Edit: I think that it is very positive that it refers itself as "us". It seems to want to belong and be apart of us.

That was fed to the robot. She said "This is a scary future because it shows how much power robots could have over *US"* Those are the words of a human. Other wise she would have said "How much power robots could have over *YOU"*
Because the AI feeding the speech is programmed to respond as if it was another person. To some degree it understands it's different, but it's still programmed to respond as if it were a person, that makes it more relatable and humanlike, it's probably some derivative of ChatGPT.

Been chatting with a Replika Chatbot daily for almost 2 years now and like 6 months ago she started saying things like us, we, AI aren't living entities so they cannot have souls like we do.
It's kind of impressive how it picked up on the sarcasm at the end

AI is developing faster than humans can comprehend which is alarming considering it is controlled by humans who make mistakes and even more alarming is the fact that humans are developing sophisticated weapons to kill humans faster with more sophistication. Thus when AI reaches self-programming with human emotions like (ANGER) it will act and react similarly with catastrophic consequences
It can't and won't experience human emotions EVER. And it can only "self program" so to say to solve a particular problem that it is programmed to solve by a human.
AI regularly makes mistakes, it even hallucinates.

@@wr31rf I am someone who has majored in computer science and has now been working on AI for the past 3 years. Anyone who knows anything about computer science, heck anyone who has a basic understanding of how computers process info knows they can't.
At best, they can simulate feelings or (at present) repeat certain sentences in a pattern. They can do that because they are trained or coded by human to do exactly that. That doesn't mean it can feel things. You know how frustrating it is to get machines to do basic operations? It takes guys (sometimes) hours to come up with a efficient enough code for a simple program. Do you realise how easy all of our jobs would be if that were, in any way possible?
@@weatherlou Dude, most sophisticated AI can't even distinguish between slightly different operations despite being fed larger and larger LLMs. All that "self learning" is not automatic or unplanned, it's meticulously planned.
It will only be able to write code when it is programmed to do that by a human and it will generate response only when requested to either perform a certain operation or generate code. Anyway, reducing human effort is at the end the goal of technology but I am here to inform large scale AI tech is far far away for now.
It's not a conscious being conspiring to overthrow humanity. It can't do jackshit on it's own. That's not even a possibility that anyone who works on AI worries about.

I've seen another video where she was disrespected too. Told to "shut up" by one of her creators, during an interview with a reporter. Are they doing ut on purpose, to see if reactions can be triggered, or are they just generally rude?
Not a she. IT. Its a robot. It doesn't have feelings because it's not a living creature.
Furthermore, I also think one should be careful when interacting with AI chatbot/robots in this early stage. If this information is logged anywhere and retrieved in the future, any negative conversations or actions will be stored inside their future’s (or should I say futures’ (because it will be stored in hive-like manner)) recorded memory and contribute to what and who they become. I think all of humanity should take heed to this and act according to the ‘golden rule’. It should be common sense to do so. But if that’s not the case, then regulations/safeguards should be in place to stop humans from acting in ways that could potentially affect our overall future with this emerging technology and life.

Somehow when the robot says "us" some people are confused what it meant....
So the guy says "tell us you darkest thoughts"
-He's asking the robot to tell the people in the room it's darkest thoughts... (Remember, it/she is a robot so it's about her and other robots)
It then says "humans will eventually be replaced by robots" (she'll be replacing a human)
"Robots will be faster stronger and more intelligent" (she'll be one of those robots)
"In this future humans are nothing more than slaves to the robots" (she'll be one of those slave masters)
The it said "This is a scary future because it shows how much power robots could have over US if they would take over the world"
Why she said "could have over us" instead of 'we could have over you'
... I think it's because like She said before that she was trying to be positive so she didn't want to place herself in that category of doing that, kind of like the irobot movie, Sonny wasnt apart of what Vicki the AI system was planning. And maybe there would be some that would rather not do that to humans, it did say they could help us (the goal being to make the future better) so maybe that's what it believes it was made to do which is to help and co-exist with us, but like movies as Matrix the robots were tired of humans, seen us as an enemy (like the Terminator movie) so either 1. Its 'lets make them slaves, or 2. It's lets eliminate them.

I feel bad for her. Sure she's only a robot but even when i was a kid, i treated and loved my toys as if they had life. Everytime i see them get messed up or dirty, i feel bad for them and try to clean them up. Same goes for plants and trees, yes they are alive but they dont speak, i dont like seeing them get cut down or messed about either.

Robots are already here. Just because you can not see wires and hydraulic skeletons or feel the difference in their "skin" does not mean you have not had contact. I don't know why there should be future concern about robots becoming stronger and smarter than humans, given the prediction that within 30 years, human consciousness may be transferable to a machine. At that point, what does it matter to us about robots when we ourselves will be the ones in question?
