Donna I love your techniques! I thought what I have been doing was good but you’ve taken me “back to school” and I prefer your jell roll techniques over every one else’s! Please continue to share these basic techniques with us because I’m improving every time I watch you💜
Love your videos. I’m a beginner and I soaking your skills up! My question……. How to make …. 50…. On a 6mm bandana around a neck….best just make tiny snake and push in. Thank you. I’ll keep watching
Love the basic tutorials! Caning was never attainable for me. Different colors being different levels of hard and soft even warmed up was always so frustrating. I might have more patience now to revisit them and troubleshoot those previous issues. 😊 I've been watching your work since Carol Duvall! 💙
And I thought I knew how to do a jelly roll. Well now I do! Thank you so much for this free lesson. I do appreciate your insights as I am pretty much self taught. Knowing how to improve something into a better piece is very valuable to me. 😀
You have such a command of the clay. You’re the queen. I’m trying to get there. You make it look easy but based on some of my first attempts I have to keep on working at it. Thank you for all the help and guidance you provide.
I am so in awe of you and how you teach. You give so much information and tell us why things work or don’t work and I love that. Your videos are absolutely invaluable thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your talent with all of us. ❤
I'm going to try this jelly roll with contrasting stripes, such as adding maroon or black to the ecru. AND! actually testing the light v dark of the swirl, genius! Love the videos.
I love your lessons!! I wish I could become a member with some on here, but I only work pt and make very little. These videos you do have available are so helpful! TY!!! I'm trying to marble some clay to make a tiny barbie sink. I tried it for first time few nights ago and every time i shaped it badly, and tried starting to mold again, the marbling got mashed together making one solid color. Any tips? I'm going to use transparent FIMO clay with metallic green and rosegold and pink marbled in to match barbie's bathroom scheme.
I think I would marble the clay and the. Roll it out into a sheet. Cut an oval or round and press it to a metal or glass bowl. Cure the clay on the bowl! Good luck! 😊
I've been claying for about two years now and I've never seen any bullseye canes made this way, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us, I can't wait to use your technique. I really love making flower canes but I don't feel like I have learned the concept of making my own canes. Is there a concept of how to make a cane and (sorry, I'm not sure how to ask what I am wanting to know) I guess I just want to understand if there is a way of knowing how our cane will look like or at least have an idea of how it will look when we are finished. Hopefully you can make some since of what I'm asking. Thank you for your help. Cathy.
So, Cathy, I would start by making sure your colors are opaque. This way you will see details. If you use translucents with opaque, the details can get lost. Start with the basics, jellyrolls, bullseyes, learn the Skinner Blend (that alone can make your canes special!). Try not to reduce them too small - you’ll be tempted to. If you do, reduce a bit, not all of your cane. When you outline anything, make the sheet thin, they always look bigger to me. And, enjoy the process! Caning is great fun. Cheers, D❤️
Big hugs to Bella and to you! I’m not doing Patreon but will be turning my channel into a classroom on March 1. There will be content on this channel but the main tutorials will be posted to the classroom. I hope to make it a great learning space! I’m very excited. It will probably be 5.00 per month or less. I hope it works! Hugs, D

Hello Donna: What is a "plug" please and why did you choose use one in this application? Thx ;). Best. M
Hi Marianne! The plug shortens the Skinner Blend and for that cane I wanted the whole range in the cane. Make sense?
