She can just as great live and her face/jaw is still relaxed while doing it. She can also sing opera! They're also making a graphic novel and they play(ed) DND campaigns together
I think what I've heard others say is that she's a mezzo-soprano. So alto soprano mix. Her tone is amazing, regardless. Don't even get me started on the band. Just talent all around.
To see what Brittney can really do live, there are 2 interesting video to react to, one is of Brittney singing at a Karaoke bar in Edinburg and the other is of her with a TH-cam channel called Lord Of The Trident singing opera.
Hey guys! Brittney, believe it or not, is not a pure soprano. She actually is a mezzo-soprano ("mezzo" being Italian for "middle"). What this means is, she has essentially the same range in the number of notes she can sing as Floor Jansen of Nightwish, but her range begins lower than Floor's by a few notes. On the flip side, Floor actually can sing a few notes above Brittney, almost a full octave above Brittney. Here, Brittney sings an A5, while for Floor, I've heard Floor hit a G6# (that was Ghost Love Score during, I believe, Wacken 2018 or Wacken 2019). Floor's usual high notes are the D6 from Phantom of the Opera and the F6 from Ghost Love Score, while for Brittney, she hits the A5 here in Tonight We Ride, and then the high note in Time Stands Still, which to be fair, I've never heard any musician or voice teacher identify that note by ear. Point is, Brittney has the same range as Floor, but where that range begins and ends is lower than Floor, hence why Brittney is a mezzo-soprano, while Floor is usually thought of as a pure soprano. Edit: You told me something I didn't know about you two: That you are not only Canadian, but that you're from Victoria Island! That is really cool! Victoria Island, by the way, is where one of the two guitarists, Andy or Grant, actually gets their guitars from, as the maker they go through is also from Victoria Island. But given you're Canadian, what I really want to say is, now you need to react to Unleash the Archers' cover of Northwest Passage! I've seen other Canadian reaction channels react to Northwest Passage, and from I've seen, it always brings out feelings of pride and other deep emotion. But that's not a surprise, given Northwest Passage has been called "The second Canadian national anthem." But I am really curious to see what you guys would think of a song that is held to such a high esteem by a lot of Canadians. So yeah: React to Northwest Passage by Unleash the Archers! You will not be disappointed in the least, I guarantee.
Not bad, for a lighting sales marketeer, lol (appears to be the family biz ) Her voice kinda defies the typical bounds. While she has the lower range of a mezzo, she does venture up into the stratosphere... (and you're right, she STOLE the limelight in that Ayreon concert... I'd like to here a little Arjen-penned project that could bring Brittney and the Jansen sisters together... may a little Marcela Bovio and Michael Mills as well... Brit could finally get her "Brittney Choir" backup parts, live !! ) Fun reaction. Enjoy the holidays. (btw : love the cough during "SLAYED".... too much fry, methinks. Try leaning into the false folds a bit harder next time, lol)
About the effort and facial contortions, like Floor Jansen Brittney is classically trained which means they can sing without visible effort. It is a lack of training that produces those facial contortions.

TONIGHT WE RIDE (2015)
Hold on to this moment for all time, this is the night we ride
I hear them calling our name
Raising the flag and fuelling the flame
I'll find my destination; don't tell me where to go
I won't give in this time, feel the power
Not this time, scream it louder
Voyage o'er the mountains and wastelands
Far beyond the sea lies fortune
No regrets, just live for the fight
Renounce your precious lives and ride
Take hold of your steel chariot; though ours is gone, lives on
Rise to the challenge or fall
Nothing will hinder our rise to the call
We'll find our destination, can't tell us where to go
We won't give in this time, feed the hunger
Not this time, growing stronger
Voyage o'er the mountains and wastelands
Far beyond the sea lies fortune
We'll find our destination; let's go!
Voyage o'er the mountains and wastelands
Far beyond the sea lies fortune
Fly, redeem tonight
Destroy, renounce your precious lives and ride
Ride
APEX title track is epic...
