I really appreciated your comments on creating rhythm in clearing the fridge, shopping for groceries, and creating some meal plans before shopping for groceries. We are only two at home, so I also pack up leftovers in smaller quantities...some to eat later in the week and some straight into the freezer.
So glad you found it helpful!
Enjoyed the video. Just a note of caution, not all harmful bacteria will necessarily alter the appearance, smell, and flavor of foods.
That's a great thing to note. Thanks for mentioning that!
My 10 minute tidies do the exact same thing for me! I feel like it’s so doable to get something done in 10 minutes and usually it gives me the push to keep going until I have to stop. Loved this- very real and relatable! ❤
Sometimes that timer really is just the encouragement I need to begin! Thanks for watching Steff!
My fridge organization is similar: sauces in door, meat, veggies, and fruit drawers. I just need to regularly clean. A good chore to add to my weekly duties.
It can feel hard to start the habit, but if I do it every week it doesn’t build into an overwhelming task!
I'm new to your channel, and I have to say that I love your videos. It's getting harder to find a real, relatable channel, and I feel that I can relate to your content very easily. Thank you. I look forward to following along.
Thank you, that is always my goal. Happy to have you here!
We need less than what we think & it can be so much simpler than we realize.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
One thing that has helped me in my fridge is a butter dish with a lid. I didn’t have one for the longest time, and I would have multiple pieces of sticks of butter in the section I keep butter in, no idea how old they were, and every few weeks I’d end up tossing several (I’m bad about grabbing a fresh stick of butter if I need 4 tbsp and the partial one is only 1-2 tbsp). Once I started using the butter dish, I keep all partial sticks in there, and I end up using it all because it’s not just floating around in the tray. A small thing that has made a big difference!
That's a great point and I love how small of a tip it is, but big enough to mean something to you. I want to get a butter dish with a lid too!
I really am so glad you did this. I have the exact same fridge as you & it always just seems so packed & there’s only hubby & I. I’ve tried putting everything in containers on the shelf & it just doesn’t work. Soooo, I’m going to try to reset my fridge today. Today is my cleaning day, & I’m on one of my 15 minute breaks, so glad I chose to watch your video. Have a blessed day. I got a surprise dusting of snow last night. 😊❤😊❄️❄️❄️❄️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
So glad you enjoyed and hope it helps inspire you in your space!
Why do you have both a crock pot and a multipot? We got a multipot when our pressure cooker no longer worked. Immediately, we threw out our crock pot and rice cooker. Saves us a lot of space.
Great point. I’ve heard from others that the slow cooker function on the instant pot is not an exact trade for a crockpot. For now, I enjoy using them both and thankfully have the space for them.
I always clean my fridge before groceries are ordered. Keeps it under control😂
Love that!
I smell everything too! 😂
Glad to know I’m not alone!
Hello Kellie from the Ottawa Valley, Ontario, Canada. I really liked your idea of a freezer thermometer and I'll pick one up for my stand-up freezer in the garage. My daughter's in-laws lost their freezer contents due to a tripped breaker (UGH!). Your video had some great tips on creating rhythm and keeping stock of what is not being used. Thank you!
Oh man, that really is an unfortunate thing when we have to lose food for something like that! Thank you for watching and glad you found it helpful.
Can you share the Aldi meal planner that you mentioned?
I've got a video coming out Friday and I'll be sure to showcase it then! It's from the special buys aisle ($4.99!) and I talk in depth about it in this video :
From NO PLAN to MEAL PLAN in less than 15 minutes! (How I Do It Every Week!) th-cam.com/video/fQDMxpaM7Pk/w-d-xo.html
You should always place your milk in the back corner of the fridge, as that’s the coldest place
I didn’t know this. Thanks Sherry!
Working this year to find the best maintenance rhythm for our home this year
That's a lovely goal!
👍👍❤️
Yeah!, now the freezer?
I don't place honey, syrup or pnut butter in the fridge.
FYI-Real Maple Syrup has to be refrigerated after opening or it becomes moldy. I know this from experience and per the label on the bottle. I'm not sure about imitation syrup, that may not require refrigeration.
I don't put honey or PB in the fridge either. Syrup I do and if the PB is all natural I do refrigerate it :)
So glad everyone knows what works best for their fridge and their family! As Victoria stated below, I also unfortunately experienced first hand that real maple syrup must be refrigerated after opening. Our honey is in a cabinet and so is our peanut butter. According to the label on our imitation syrup it needs not be refrigerated- I just keep them together there.
Hi Kellie! Do you have an Amazon store? I would love for you to get commission on that timer if possible! 😊
Actually yes! Just got that set up and it is linked in the description :)
