That's a fun video - good to see the background work in prepping an engine for a live run.
I dread to imagine what it would be like taking a constitutional on an armitage shanks of equivalent real life size to the one in the bridal suite. You could fall in and drown - what a way to go!

It's a very cute carriage. The person I bought it from said it won an award 🤣

Thanks for the very well explained demo Julia. You make it look so easy. But I guess there's a lot to learn 🤔 Cheers Nobby

Thanks Nobby. Some locos are easier than others but this one is a real peach 😄

Julia, please do a video on the Bridal Carriage. I'd love to learn more about it.

Hi Jasper I bought it from eBay and the figures came with it. I call it the bridal carriage but that's about all I know about it. 😳

    morning Julia
You know i love that track, it always looks great and hardly the sign of any humanoids this time.!!!
I know next to nothing about garden railway, so when you light the boiler on these is it not necessary to have an artificial blower to draw the flames down the tubes or does the gas flame push things through from the very start.!!!

Hi Kev glad you enjoyed the video I made for you! 🤣 Some internally fired meths boilers need a blower but most gas ones don't as the combustion air is sucked into the burner like a Bunsen. It usually needs the smoke box door being left ajar until warm to. ATB Julia 😄

Great video, Julia! I am wondering if you ever see any 3.5” gauge locomotives who burn gas or oil versus coal? Just thinking of future alternative fuels for my LBSC Tich project. Thanks, Bill.

Hiya Bill, thanks 😄 oil burning is unheard of in smaller scales to my knowledge although the FFestioniog narrow gauge railway did use oil firing. Gas firing is popular for garden railways in the UK but is very rare for larger scales although I do have a 5" gauge B1 which came with a huge poker burner! 😮 As an aside most of the garden locos use poker style burners in a single large tube. Sorry I can't help.

Brilliant loco you have there Julia. How long do you get with the gas burner for the boiler?
Nice shot of the Class 37 pulling the coal wagons at 5:42. Done that many times but it was always two 37s in tandem pulling 36 coal wagons from Hunterston. Even with two, we were struggling to get out of the yard onto the main line.
Most of those Locos like Class 37 etc were absolutely freezing in the winter. The cab heaters never worked.
The Class 47 Locos were warmer.
Just as well they supplied us with heavy coats. 🥶👍👍🚂🚂🚂

Hi Mike, I don't really time the runs I usually do 3 or 4 laps by then I'm tired from chasing it around. I was running the gas a bit higher as it was really windy. I think the Class 37 was quite expensive so having two is probably out of the question 🤣 sounds like hard work! Thanks for watching
