There is something special about a church wedding, I myself could not afford a church wedding, we had a quickie version at the registry office, Its just not the same.
If you grew up in S. St. Louis where Polish, Germans, Italians, Greek etc. generally had a simple church wedding and a reception in the church hall with the old grandmas of the church contributing a fabulous buffet of ethnic recipes. The family would buy these legendary cooks all the ingredients they needed. MY idea of a 'destination wedding' is a trip to the church hall.
