Some massive news has just dropped in regards to the persistent rumors linking Zinedine Zidane with the Bayern Munich job.
For the first time, the Real Madrid legend has addressed the swirling speculation about him potentially replacing Julian Nagelsmann at the Bayern helm next season.
In an exclusive interview with ESPN, Zidane said quote:
"The Bayern Munich rumors? I can't deny there has been interest and discussions with the club. They are one of the most elite teams in the world and any manager would be interested in such an opportunity."
He went on to add: "However, no decision has been made on my future at this point. I am keeping all my options open, whether that is Bayern, another club, or taking a break next season."
Wow! Those are easily the strongest comments yet from Zizou about the very real possibility of departing the Spanish capital for the first time since first joining Real as a player in 2001.
As we all know, Zidane cemented himself as an all-time Madrid icon by winning 3 consecutive Champions League titles as manager between 2016 and 2018. Only adding to his legendary playing career at the club.
But a new challenge at a Bayern side stacked with world-class talent like Mane, Musiala and Kimmich could prove too tantalizing to turn down for the Frenchman.
On top of that, there have been rumblings that Zidane's relationship with Perez has become strained, perhaps facilitating his surprise exit.
