- Key West. Some go to party. Some go to see historical locations. I go to eat. Food is the game and Key West is the place. But, where do you eat at? What restaurants are good? There's so many choices and so little time. What you DONT want is a tourist trap restaurant. Finding the local eats is always the best choice. Key West is a huge tourist destination, so how do you know what's a tourist restaurant and what's a local spot? Well, come with me and I'll show you what I found! I go to where the locals eat in Key West!
Great video, my friend. The Key West express is truly the best way to get down there and have a ball
Headed down next week (Oct 1st) for us as well ... Thanks for the insider info! 😃
Awesome video! Can’t wait to try these next week 🤘🏼
Its 92 degrees outside and 130 inside their food trailer with no AC. I How can the refrigeration work properly as well as them using safe food practices ??
I agree! AWESOME VLOG! We’re taking a cruise in November and are looking for dives to eat at while in port. THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO AND TIPS and for showing the menu’s and prices and food reviews.
The Shaq Pumps sealed the fate of my subscription. We’re heading back in 3 weeks and can’t wait to dive bar food truck it again. That’s how we roll also 🙌🏼
Thanks! Shaq shoes are my favorite shoe of all time. I always wanted them as a kid and never was able to get them. When they started re-releasing them again, I made sure to buy two pairs. One to use and one to sit on a shelf. I love those things. LOL. And yeah, food trucks are the best! Any time I go anywhere on vacation, the food trucks always win over sit down restaurants.
Going there in 2 weeks and thanks to your video, i now know where to eat 🙂
Glad I could help out. Never sleep on the street food! Every vacation I’ve gone on, the street food wins every time! Have fun while you’re down there. It’s a lot to take in!
Yes. Bro this video had me seconds from telling Logan we're going to key west NOW!!
Dude, im all about street/locals places when I hit a town. Excellent video sir!
Thanks! Street food is always where it’s at. I’ve been on vacation in different places and ate at some high end restaurants. The local street food is always better.
Great video! Thanks for all the great info. Heading there Oct 2025 and learning as much as I can starting now. You guys are so funny!!!
I live in Miami. I used to go to Key West regularly, for work or pleasure. The last time was in 2019. It's gotten crowded, lost it's Florida charm and has become unbearably expensive. Nice place to spend your money on liquor, cigars t-shirts, sunglasses and food trucks. There are only like, three or four really GOOD restaurants still in business, including Siboney, a great Cuban place that's off the beaten track. La-ti-da.
WASACACA IS THE BESTTT! Great video!! 😊
It was so good. Nothing like that where I live. When I go back to Key West in November, Wasacaca is the first place I’m going!
Heading to key west in January 2025. This will definitely be a reference video for places to eat.
Totally agree. We were there at Christmas last year. The food was very disappointing. The best food we had was probably a chain restaurant. But I do have to say we were quite happy with no but that is not in key West.
Next time go to
The corner sandwich shop (1 minute walk from Wasacaca) for anything authentic coffee/breakfast/lunch
Geiger Key marina for anything fish related and view
Taco Express for shrimp burritos
There is an El Siboney on Catherine Street, in Key West, too. 😂
Bo’s fish wagon has the best fish sandwich. It’s delicious and simple, perfect for what it is.
Actually going to Key West tomorrow (7/3/24) to celebrate a friend's birthday. Loved the video - hopefully will get to check out a few of these places!!! 👍 👏 😊
That's what they call a HogWASHfish sandwich! $40 for some fish and chips cod served with a side of poppycock!
Oh yeah, next time your at the Conch Shack get the fresh cracked conch salad. They do the Caribbean justice with this small but mighty masterpiece. My wife and I just went and had a bowl there last week. Sublime and delicious; like a conch ceviche.
I’ll be back in November. I’ll get that! Sounds delicious! Thanks for the recommendation.
El Siboney on Stock Island is great for authentic Cuban food. The Docks on Stock has some good offerings as well as a great burger.
So, the day before we went here to eat, we were just driving around on Stock island and I saw this place. It was closed and I didn’t know if it was a restaurant or store or what. I looked it up online and we decided that we had to try it. Just biased on location and the outside appearance of the building. I found that usually when a restaurant is in a non tourist location and looks a little outdated on the outside, it’s a awesome place with great food. And El Siboney did not disappoint!
@@daddydeliciousjust ate El Siboney tonight. Loved it!
That thing looks amazing
Conch fritters are straight from heaven.
For years I would buy a fish sandwich from a Fish Wagon On Eaton street in Key West. Last year the gave me a sandwich with two tiny pieces of grouper the size of two chicken sandwiches. $ 20 .00 for it. Rip off.
You really missed out not going to mo's and tavern n town. Goldmans and the dolphin deli are also good. El siboney is great though.
Shanna key was my favorite place to get fried fish, delicious and cheap, not a tourist trap, but it has new owners now and idk if its the same!
Forgot about Kim’s Kuban and smoothie shuttle
Kim’s Kuban is at the end of the video. What’s smoothie shuttle? I’m going back in November and want to try new places.
Calling Hogfish a "fancy seaside restaurant" means you're missing the point.
Hello 🤗 great content. New subscriber here. Than you stay well🙏🏿
A hog fish is a type of snapper.
The hogfish is not even in the snapper family. Hogfish are from the wrasse family.
We are coming to Key West to celebrate birthday's so Thank YOU guys for the heads up on where to find really delicious food .
Happy birthday! Make sure to go get a key lime shot at the world’s smallest bar!
My father had his boat right there.
I have my Keywest shirt also.
You should know you always eat were the LOCALS eat !!!!!!
Ill be ther next week. Im excited
Bring sunscreen and get ready for tropical island vibes and fun!
@@daddydelicious thanks. Are the mosquitoes bad 😅???
@Princeton_James I didn’t experience any mosquitoes when I was there. And one night, I was sitting outside for hours hanging out.
@@daddydelicious thanks!
I been on the boat to Keywest
Have you ever had buffalo shrimp or blacken grouper?
great advise on the food in Key West thanks for sharing
Whats the name of the gas station you's got the Gyros @ that you ate in your hotel room? What is the band you had playing " Here I go again on my own " @ the 4:15 minute mark???
It was a fast food place called Miami Subs. Pretty awesome Gyros.
Song name is; DJ Quads: Here I go Again.
You guys are too funny.
So does the hotel provide a charge station for the Golf Carts.... I am sure you are not the only guests with a rented golf cart....
I’m not sure. Our cart was a gas cart and I think most of the rental carts on the island are gas. Good question though.
Miami Subs smacks! Definitely good gyro sandwich...
Yeah! I really enjoyed that gyro I was eating!
@@daddydelicious what was the name of the place where you got the gyro?
Thanks
@lsourcel It was a place called Miami Subs. I had never seen a Miami Subs before. I guess it’s a chain fast food restaurant. People really seem to like it. The Gyro was pretty delicious and being from the Midwest, I eat Gyros all the time at Cony Island restaurants.
No Fasco sticks In Florida
Shaq shoes!!!
Heck yeah!
I agree about Hogfish. It's definitely overrated. Can't wait to try Wasacaca & El Siboney! Thanks for sharing!
Hog fish is the most overrated fish in the ocean 😂 Said this a million times.
hahhahaaaaaa......You guys......
Did you go to Irish Kevin’s?
Place is fun
You guys can EAT
Tapped out after you didn't tell us where Wasacocka could be found
fat free water,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
All food in Key West is average
That's BS.
Just returned had good food.
I'm from NYC area and was mostly pleased.
@@jenmac287its mid
miami subs gyro baby
You're in a tourist trap, the prices are what they are. I live in the Hamptons and do not eat downtown.... $35 pizza. Don't like the prices, eat in miami. You look like TOURISTS !
Learn some table manners as a food critic.
Have you ever had buffalo shrimp or blacken grouper?
Thanks for the video
Do you recommend any hotels that are not expensive but clean and decent enough?
The Havana Cabana is where we stayed. It’s not what I would call a budget hotel, but it’s also not as much as a lot of other hotels on the island. It was a great hotel and the pool is fantastic. The entire vibe of the hotel is awesome. I can’t speak for other hotels, since this is the only place I stayed at.
@@daddydelicious Thank you for the response. I'll look it up. We plan to be there in a few days.
Not expensive does not exist in key west lol but when I go home and don't want to stay with my parents I stay at the seashell motel, it's perfectly fine imo. Usually the cheapest but I haven't stayed there in a while.
What hotel is this that y'all stayed in,?
The Havana Cabana. It was pretty nice. The pool was fantastic.
I'm thinking about a road trip to KW next month, but don't know where to stay. May I ask where you stayed? Can't afford anything too expensive.
Havana Cabana. I’m not sure how much it was, because my brother paid for the room, but I think it was a cheaper option than the usual on KW. It was a pretty awesome hotel and I’d stay there again anytime. The pool was fantastic.
@@daddydelicious Thanks. I'll check it out. Whenever we travel, we try and find the restaurants that are off the beaten path because they are always better than the tourist traps. We call them the "local hole-in-the-wall" restaurants. In our home neighborhood we have great food trucks that park in gas stations and they have great food.
