Here I talk about this Contigo water bottle that I mainly use for cold water. It is built well and good quality. I talk about two things to watch out for about this regarding the popup straw and straw suction. If you have a issue with suction, make sure the straw is pushed all the way in. Some other models have a screw in straw which seems like it would be ideal so the straw doesn't push out.

The, pushing the straw up, tip is what I was here for. That fixed my issue of it being difficult to suck through the straw. Thanks!

Great to hear and glad this video was able to help. Yes, some mentioned that earlier models actually had a screw in straw which seems like it would be a better design, thx for the comment! :)

Good luck taking all the silicone pieces out to clean them.
Actually, thats tue easy part. Getting them hack in is whatll make you throw the bottle out of a window.

That is also questionable if the straw has to push up and friction fit. Mine are screw on with the flange. I wonder if they are going the cheaper route.

Thanks again Ari, yes a screw in straw would be ideal, another good point! :)

I’m having an issue with the straw and extra plastic part, it won’t stay in the lid and keeps coming out

My existing contigo ashland stainless bottles all have a fixed handle and built in carabiner which is the best design. I can hook the bottle on my belt loop and remove one handed including drinking from. This bottles design in the video and all of their newer models with the movable loop is useless and requires a separate hook or carabiner and then two hands one reaching over your stomach to hook the floppy carabiner or handle to your belt or something else. Contigo are complete morons for removing and no longer making this carabiner design. I will try to buy every existing one available and will have no desire to buy any future bottles without this carabiner. It is a mistake to do away with it and not make bottles anymore like this design. The plastic clear bottles are also a mistake as the plastic creates leeching health issues and does not provide as good an insulation on warm sunny days as the 2 wall stainless which is fantastic even in the sun. I see no point in using any bottles that are not the 2 wall stainless either. Plus the stainless is more durable and can sustain dents and still work where the plastic would crack and leak and have to be thrown away. The metal is also more consistently recycled than the plastics are. The contigo engineers need to start using their brain more.

Thanks Ari, very interesting points! I personally don't use carabiners but I can see what you are saying. You should send this to Contigo Support, thanks for leaving a comment!
