Shanghai EXPAT’S SECRET STORE | The Avocado Lady | Foreigner’s Favorite Store in Shanghai

Avocado Lady is no longer a Shanghai secret! She has a great range of foodstuff for reasonable prices. But just be aware coz it gets just crazy crowded with expats at weekends coz anything you cannot find somewhere else, you find them here!
The Avocado Lady is not an urban myth, but to many expats, is one of Shanghai's urban legends. Her store is regularly stocked with fresh mints, herbs, fresh cranberries, blue berries, tropical fruits, cheese, olive oil, lamb, wine, imported chocolates and avocados.
This store is currently located here in 274 Wulumuqi Lu, near Wuyuan Lu, Xuhui District Shanghai. It’s a 10 minutes walk from Line 1 or Line 7 Changshu Road Metro Station.
Avocado Lady sells most organic products, affordable avocados, nuts, fresh vegetables, spices, balsamic vinegar, basmati rice, even almond milk and unsweetened yogurt that are not so easy to find in Shanghai.
At first glance, she’s hard to find in these busy streets between Anfu Road and Fuxing Road, between hotpot restaurants, cafes and colorful shops. But with her lively produce shop and rich assortment of goods, she is an established legend in the city.
The prices of the goods here are cheaper than the supermarkets thats why everyone loves this place, but it’s just really tight inside the store and the flow of customers never stops.
What I love the most here is the smoked salmon, mozzarella, blue and white cheese and even the turkeys.
If you can’t find what you are looking for here then ask her. She has them all.! It's probably buried in a corner or pile somewhere.
