This variation is so deceiving and yet SO difficult! Terekhova comes to mind, and this dancer has outstanding epaulement and technique required for this variation. Brava! ❤️

@@serenevil nobody won unfortunately :( they didn't give out an award for first place, which happens sometimes if they don't think anyone performed well enough for first place. I don't agree with it here. but second place was a tie between anastasia smirnova and malika yelchibaeva.

@@stretchribbon absolutely preposterous. they performed beautifully. varlamova at least deserves some recognition for her choice of choreography which was unique and exciting. the butterfly variation was inspired and she gave a gorgeous performance. i don't know how common this is in russia but it feels like a snub to the dancers who worked so hard and did so well.
