he had a hard childhood not hard life. But his hard childhood brought him to bad mental state later in life. I had hard teen years, with my parents divorcing and my father leaving us on street, me and my brothers and sister have successful lives because we wanted to prove that we are strong without him, but, the mental stress from back then still haunts me, even thou my life is successful now, im an alcoholic, which can lead to my downfall. A ruined childhood can ruin your successful life in one way or another.

If you’re more partial to the hip hop/rock side of them, “Papercut”, “Points of Authority”, “Place for my Head”, and “Forgotten” are bangers. “One Step Closer” will make you wanna go run through a wall if you don’t catch yourself lol.

There are SO MANY very good songs, some of them better to react in Live version(for example "Given Up, live in Clarkston", "Faint, live Rock am ring 2007" and "QWERTY, Live in Tokyo 2006"). Also you should react to "Numb", "What I've Done", "New Divide" and dozens of others:) Linkin Park also did a collab with Jay-Z. I'm hoping you will react to Linkin Park Jay-Z - "One Step Closer/99 problems/Points of Authority", "Numb/Encore" and "Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You".

I was fortunate to see them live twice before we lost Chester. RIP.
The first time was Ozzfest in Sacramento, CA in 2001
The second time was opening for Metallica at Candlestick Park 2 years later.
They were fkn amazing both times. Chester had such an amazing vocal range and power.
Shout out to Aerosmith and RunDMC for pioneering this Reese's Peanut Buttercup like blend of chocolate and peanut butter into such an amazing sound collab we get in todays music. So many have tried. Few do it well. None better than Linkin Park.
Tom MacDonald's music also experiments with this blended sound of rock and rap.
This song is an anthem! Biggest song for sure. Numb is prob my fav along with this one. Numb is very popular. The lead singer (rock singer - Chester Bennington) battled with major depression his whole life and eventually lost that battle. Their songs have a lot of deep connections with people suffering w/ depression - Numb is a personal song that encompasses those negative feelings and emotions that strike a chord with so many.

You have the best reaction channel hands down, just the way you break things down and always enjoy new things. Much love my man. I love this whole album, it's highschool vibes big time for me so it's a fun walk down memory lane. Had it on repeat.

Chester has the voice of an angel and the scream of a demon. Hard to top that voice and Mike (the rap part) can not just rap but also has a great voice. Chester sadly lost his battle with depression and committed suicide. Many of their songs are based on mental health struggle. Go down the rabbit hole that is linkin park. Start with hybrid theory album.

Already sorry for my English I am from Belgium. Chester Bennington when he sang I had the impression that on his right shoulder there was a little angel who gave a soft and crystalline side and on the left shoulder a little demon who screamed his desire to sing, his anger or his pain . When this song came out, it was new nobody was offering this kind of sound, all we could do on the first listen was wouawwwww I dream it's masterful.

after all these years its still hard listening to these guys let alone checking out reactions. yours is one of the very few ive seen. loved it. glad i got to see these guys back in 2003 with Limpbizkit and Metallica. i was only 14y.o. and it was my first big concert i went to. check out these songs (they have music videos)
•"One Step Closer" this was their 1st video
    •"Crawling"
    •"Numb"
Also i see youre a Jay Z fan.... they did a surprise concert for fans in their fanclub and instead of performing individually they performed together and mashed up their songs. i think the most popular one is "Numb/Encore"

Mike Shinoda is the one with the bars. You should react to Kenji by Fort Minor, his hip-hop project - absolutely immense piece of work.

The world lost a helluva vocalist when Chester Bennington (Lead vocals) passed. "Mike" Kenji Shinoda (rapper) has done his best to keep Chester's memory alive with the band. A little known fact is that Chester fronted Stone Temple Pilots before going out on his own to start Linkin Park.
Give Linkin Park a chance ... you won't be disappointed.
Another great Linkin park tune is Crawling.

i beg more of linkin park, chesters vocals are easily some of the best - 'what ive done' was one that hit me hella growing up, youll catch the meaning from the video but its was a big eye opener on how we treat the planet for me when i was young

They were massive and cut across cultures and genres: very popular in my childhood, right alongside Eminem (biggest artist on Earth at the time). Of course, Green Day and others were big for about one summer -- Linkin Park was major for years. I'm thinking back to maybe 2005-2007 here, in the North of England (so, things hit us a little late, of course).

    • @EarnestEgregore
      @EarnestEgregore ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yea Green Day was pretty popular into the mid 2000s starting back in early 90s stateside… and linkin park was huge in like 2000 here I think? I would argue Green Day was technically more popular than linkin park here… but the people that love linkin park really really love them… there stuff just sticks with you… that being said I think by the time we got to 2007 their sound had changed some and they still had die yards but weren’t getting nearly as much recognition … I think if you took a poll of Americans most would list Green Day as the more popular band, but the people that said Linkin Park likely feel that their music saved their lives… very hard to measure that kind of impact

Great song. Song of my senior year in high school at Altus High School in Southwestern Oklahoma. This was a fitting song. This song is stuck on my mind forever. My senior year yearbook quote was “I’ve put my trust in you. Pushed as far as I can go.”

I'm with you 100% on the difference between listening and hearing music and lyrics. I became more appreciative of so many different artists as I got older and started listening as opposed to hearing. I wish I would have paid more attention when I was younger, I just didn't get it back then. I think it's so cool when teens and younger kids actually listen to music, read the lyrics, and are open to different genre's. It shows a certain level of maturity and depth to them. I think it makes your connection with everything in life so much richer in a way when you're able to connect to music on a different level. Anyway, I'm getting deep here, but I appreciate your reaction video and your openess to to this group/song. And that you looked them up and did some research on them beforehand - very cool :)
I like "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park. You may not like it as much as this one, it's pretty hard core, but it serves its purpose ✌️
    RIP C.B.

Now that you’ve heard one LP song, you’ve gotta do more. First on that list can only be Given Up. Anyone suggesting LP songs knows the reason for that.
Some of my personal favorites would be Faint, Breaking the Habit, and Numb for some of their harder stuff. They also have some great stuff that’s more mellow such as Shadow of the Day, Heavy, and One More Light. A lot of the lyrics in any of these songs hit much harder after Chester took his life. Lot of pain in their music but that makes it therapeutic.
