The one thing i hate about part time fire houses is when they get a call the crew are not aloud to use bule lights to get to the station if there is heavy traffic
Those rules vary from state to state. In my state, volunteer firefighters aren't permitted to have any emergency (blue) lights or sirens on their personal vehicles.
ok.... you have 4 guys show up the station.. why did it take so long to respond.. I know its a volunteer dept. But when you have the first 4 or 5 memebers show at the station get going .. The response time important.... And yeah the guy on the bike thats a new one to me....
In Germany you need at least 6 Firefighters to respond with the first Engine. Only if there aren't more, then you can responde with 4 on a Engine. If it's a good time there are 9 Firefighters on a Engine
In my part of the country, volunteer firehouses that have disposed of their siren are much more numerous than those still using them. Nowadays, firefighters are alerted by the electronic gadgets they carry on their person. The demise of the siren is kind of sad. I can understand both sides of the debate. However, I do think the siren serves a community function in that it alerts everyone driving on the roads at that moment to be even a bit more watchful because some volunteer firefighters driving their personal vehicles are going to come swiftly through on their way to their hero's work. Also, in my opinion, the siren serves as a wise redundancy/fail-safe because, as we all know, sometimes e-technology can glitch and/or fail.

We watch the whole video only to have the videographer turn the camera away for the actual response.

Sounds good thx
@@mugwump242 Yes, there is nothing that can replace a siren and be as effective.
Slow response
hi Michael Patanella
most fire dispatchers have to ask you who the call is coming from or else how would they dispatch it? no name no game
