I listened and loved Gary in the late nineties and in the 2000's. This song was on one of his CD's I played on my kitchen radio/CD player when my kiddos were young. I never realized how much this song would mean to me until my 12 year old sweet boy died by suicide in 2016. This song meant so much after losing my child. He led a beautiful life....and it was a beautiful ride. It really hit hard when I saw Gary in concert this week. Until I meet my baby again in Heaven 💙
You can see the hurt in his eyes. This man has been through a lot and I think he uses his singing/songwriting to release some of the stress and his songs have so much meaning. He is one of the few singer/songwriters left with that ability.

He would attempt to talk about them, feel tears come, get angry from feeling weak & sad, lash out and run away. He would never cry. Would never talk it out. Would never admit what happened. Admit how bad he had it. Never would try to heal. And in 2019 it became too much. I wish more than anything he would have fully let me in. I tried for 6 long years. I feel like I failed him. I went through a very rough 4 yr run starting with my soul mate taking his life... first time i ever heard "every storm runs out of rain" i was contemplating my life's value. i looked up the song as i had to know who sang it and i came across his story about his wife. since that moment he has been a guiding light for me that I am forever grateful for.

Some things do though, I lost my real father 6 years ago and now my mom has been through a stroke and was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer but I'm lucky to have spent a good bit of time with her and my stepfather is an awesome dude for stepping up and being there for us.
My boyfriend and I both lost our spouses to suicide and he decided this is our song. It's a terrible way to reconnect after 20 yrs but happiness sure does have its was of taking its sweet time and we both found happiness again

Just about the whole Tough All Over is about his wife suicide. My fiance died in a car wreck in the spring of 04 right after this album came out. When I found out what happened to him I could feel his pain in every song because I was feeling the same. This album really helped me get through the death of my fiance. The crazy thing is he's the only country singer I've ever seen in concert and it was with her about 3 years before she died.

My 27 old son Mike N Crystal Heger, 1yr daughter Hailey Jade Heger, she past away due to a seizure on Thanksgiving 2017,
It has devastated our lives,especially my son n daughter in-law they tried to end there lives, I sent them this song "Life Ain't Always Beautiful" I miss my granddaughter so very much, our lives, hearts, mind n soul will never be the same again. Beautiful song. Dread the day it has personal meaning to me due to my husband passing if that tragedy were to happen. Selfishly I hope I go first so i dont have to live without him but at the same time I hope I go last to avoid his heart from hurting 💔 morbidly and ideally if we could both go together that would be perfect. Sad for the children who'd have to deal with that loss of both parents at once thkugh. Dang it. Why can't we all just live FOREVER!

Just about the whole Tough All Over is about his wife suicide. My fiance died in a car wreck in the spring of 04 right after this album came out. When I found out what happened to him I could feel his pain in every song because I was feeling the same. This album really helped me get through the death of my fiance. The crazy thing is he's the only country singer I've ever seen in concert and it was with her about 3 years before she died.
Might be going to Rehab soon,I’m not out of high school yet but I’ve got bad depression and anxiety and it’s led to a bad drug problem and drinking problem,it’s gonna ruin my life long dream of the army...but I’ll find something else and I’ll get through this.This song really helps so I keep it on repeat.
Clean up and go in the military. I did it back in the early 70's and went into the Marines. Will do you good. You sound like you need a bit of discipline. Will make or break you buddy. All the best no matter what you do.

I always wanna cry when I hear this song. I think about his wife and her suicide, and finding a way to get by after such tragedy, and the tears fall.
My husband completed suicide in front of me, I have listen to this song many a time...My whole life came crashing down...I am damaged goods.

I lost almost every important thing in my life ive thought so much about ending all the pain i drank so much i cant even remember 3 months much but my god things have gotten so much better im pretty happy still mad at life but its slowly getting much better im still very thankfull for being alive

His wife was my niece. Her death affected so many!
So sorry. My son in laws father recently committed suicide. I still weep for him.
My dad used to play this song for me he passed in 2020 I’m going through a lot and feel like taking my own life a lot the love of my life just left me we were together 7 years since I was 15 I’m 23 now I feel so numb and lost I just lost my baby to a miscarriage also I don’t know what to do
